Our school is soulless all we care about winning.  Unlike, Auburn who wants to be best friends with all their prospects but they probably will go elsewhere.

Why does Caldwell get so much less respect than Andre as a player? This has never sat well with me. Obviously, I'm a huge Caldwell fan, but is my homerism really blinding me so much that I don't see how much more gifted Andre is, or something? From what I've seen, Caldwell was always a better leader and a harder worker. What's the deal?

He was unquestionably the leader of the OL. Can't say for certain if he was a harder worker than Andre or not (he probably was) but that still doesn't make him nearly the player Andre was. Andre was obviously a special talent that doesn't come around very often. It's just a shame his career ended like it did.

John, the only thing I really know about the OL right now is that James Carpenter will more than likely start at LT against Virginia Tech. He's supposedly looked good enough this summer, but until fall camp starts you can only really go by what you hear/read on the net. Can't wait until August 5.

Agree 100 percent.  Its not that Caldwell is a bad player but Andre was arguably the biggest prospect we had gotten from a recruiting standpoint in the last decade or so.  Andre did nothing to disappoint until the Utah game.  I would like to build a team with the character and work ethic of a Caldwell and the physical talent of Andre.

Caldwell isn't on the same level as Andre Smith because 3 star prospects  never turn out to be better than 5 stars.

I dunno, I guess I'm just annoyed because the dude's an All-American and has never been regarded as highly as Andre. He completely sold out for the team, playing whatever position that needed to be played and did it well, too. I'll go as far to say that we don't win the Cotton Bowl if he didn't step up when they put him at center. I honestly don't see what separates the two in terms of talent. Andre came in with more talent, but I guess I feel like by the time their careers were over, due to Caldwell's work ethic and due to Andre seemingly being complacent, they left at about the same level, performance wise.

Speaking of Caldwell, I thought it was hilarious that before the Utah game he was like "I'm going to kill you" to that player at the coin toss.  We all know how that turned out  facepalm

Fair enough. I was just curious.

Back to the original focus, what packages are we likely to see BJ Scott brought in for on D?
