“Rutgers did everything perfect, but I wanted to come in and compete earlier for a chance to play,” he admitted.
"It was just the atmosphere at Pitt; it's a family atmosphere," Belton told PantherLair.com. "It felt like home and the coaches are down to earth, so I felt like it was the right fit and the right place for me. "I was out there a couple times to visit. The last time was when I went out to the spring game and they showed me around and gave me an academic presentation. That sold me and my parents on it. It's a great place in a great city; Pitt is my choice and that's where I'm going to school. "My coach said the way to think about it is, if you take football out of the equation, would you still go to that school? I would still go to Pitt if I didn't play football. It's a great school with great academics in great city. Then you throw football in it, and that's why I am where I am now." I don't doubt that he wants to play early and obviously Rutgers is very young at WR with the players with real talent (outside of Sanu) not even practiced with the team yet, so the depth chart looks filled with young players. However, they have proved nothing. Pitt's best WR leaves after this year, but Pitt will have a SO and FR behind him, so it is not like they will be leaving soon. The difference is the skillset of WRs, but Pitt has not used Belton's type of WRs much. Personally I think it is more likely he ends up at CB for Pitt considering our lack of good young players there.

Shuler will be a CB at Pitt if he comes. He saw our depth chart and shit his pants, IMO. Seriously, wtf are we going to do with all these WR's. Yeah definitely scary with 1 real player and a bunch of recruits who have done nothing.

4 real players. Sanu is a given. Mark Harrison played all last year with a messed up hamstring and flashed a few glimpses when he got into some games. Tim Wright was probably our best WR this spring and literally catches everything. And Quron Pratt looked like Savage's favorite target this year in the spring game. The problem last year was that Savage tended to look at Brown and Sanu, and that was it. He didn't really go through his progressions at all, which is why guys like Tim Wright never even caught a pass. He basically just threw to Brown and Sanu and no one else (occasionally to Shamar Graves at TE). The other guys didn't get catches because of a lack of skills; rather, they didn't get catches cause a freshman QB with basically 0 experience was not throwing them the ball. The offense was very dumbed-down at points last year for Savage. This year should be a lot different. And basically every single WR on the roster is a sophomore (elibility wise) or younger. The only ones that aren't are Julian Hayes (buried on the depth chart) and Mason Robinson (recovering from knee surgery).

All shit is going to break lose now. SEC is gonna pluck 3 teams from the SEC (FSU, Miami, Clemson?). ACC will respond by taking some BE teams. I wonder if we're offered a spot in the ACC, could we use that as leverage for the B10? We could say, "hey, either invite us now, or we're headed to the ACC and we're taking the NYC market with us. Make a decision." I would be curious to see who the ACC offers in that scenario. Gotta think UConn is a given with their bball program. Cuse too.

Yea. It's gonna fuck everything up, IMO. Teams are going to be moving all over the place now. ND is going to cave in and join sooner rather than later as a result. Also, the Pac10 will likely add Utah as their 16th team now. Which means the MWC will have added Boise only to lose Utah one week later. Ironic.

i just wanna get this over with Ha. Everything should speed up a little now. Before, if everyone went to the Pac10 as planned, then the B10 could take its sweet time waiting for ND. Now things may pick up a little. This is all my opinion obviously. Just trying to use some logic.

People need to realize that just cause we weren't invited this week doesn't mean we won't be invited at all.
