Staff has been on him for quite a while...you gotta think they know what they're doing.  Still....we have a lot of DBs on the board, so he better pan out

why

literally the only defensive player who has done jack shit that they recruited has been craig roh, and its not like their WVU D's were good

and im counting mike martin as a Carr player

Brandon Smith has been very solid on special teams and will be a good defensive player for us

seriously I want to trust the staff and I don't mind guys like Avery who came to camp and proved they were worth an offer but with high profile guys like Christian, Mathis, Grimes, and Knight still interested I question accepting this commitment.

smith is just a fantastic athlete, which obviously serves him well on ST

im talking about actual defensive players they coached and developed (maybe he will qualify in time)

unless this kid is a bigtime sleeper this is a bigtime head scratcher.  Unless the staff knows a little bit more about the situation with the other DBs on the board it don't make sense

well you have to be fair to the situation.

RR has only been here for 2 years so even guys in his first class would only be either true sophs or Rs freshman. Give it a little bit of time before we rag on what his first 2 classes have done.

He does play bigtime football down in Louisiana and his team is 9-0...its been said by several before that he stands out on their defense....so he has to have some ability if he stands out on a 9-0 5A team in Louisiana

always love the "well mike williams was a 4* and he was shitty" argument

because clearly that proves this nobody was worth taking

and yes i realize that ron, but ive just lost any faith in the defense and recruiting for it

I'm not sure that's fair, given that the only guys that could fit that description would be true FR. Not sure what some of the redshirts are going to do, but I think you have to give them at least a little bit of a benefit of the doubt. The WVU defenses weren't as bad as some made it out to be, but even with that this staff isn't the same defensive and the scheme is different so it's irrelevant either way.

Not saying anything either way. Just don't think it's fair to judge yet.

i only counted martin as Carr because i think he was committed when RR took over

and yes i understand the point, but i figure it goes both ways. no real reason not to trust them, but no reason to trust them either

in which case i can only look at something like this and kind of sigh since so many bigger name players are still around at that position

I really fucking hate to say this, but I'm almost completely off the RR bandwagon. I bought in like everyone else, but he is having so many problems in so many phases of his job I'm really starting to think he's in over his head. Maybe he can figure it all out before MSC or the new AD can him in two years, but I won't be shocked if he can't.

You're just a fan who doesn't know how to handle adversity..its ok...and I don't mean any (much) offense, but you just need to toughen up.  its not going to be easy and everyone knew that ahead of time.
