I hate all this stupid vampire shit going on in pop culture right now, but it would probably be cool to be a vampire. That way you can bite the people you love and turn them into vampires too. Plus having some super strength and shit would be pretty cool.

I'd say you would be able to take a ridiculous amount of pain and live through some things that others would not. But your body could still be destroyed (you are still human), so if you were in a fire you'd still burn.
