Fucking hell Jonjo playing the victim because the fans got onto him. This coming from the guy who told fans to meet him at the car park. Lol I always really liked Jonjo and kept waiting for the light to come on consistently. Hes shown great flashes and I still think he's a good player. Spoiler JONJO Shelvey has claimed he was "hung out to dry" in his final few weeks at Swansea City. The England midfielder completed a £12 million switch to Newcastle United earlier this week. He moved after losing his place in the Swansea team, while he also appeared to clash with Swansea fans after Sunday's 3-2 FA Cup defeat against Oxford United. But Shelvey believes he was hard done by before his Liberty Stadium exit. He told the BBC: "The Swansea fans did jump on my back a little bit without knowing what went on behind the scenes. "I felt a little bit hard done by and hung out to dry. "I was training well and competing well in the week and found myself really unlucky not to play. "I was suspended against Liverpool and a week later wasn't on the bench against Leicester and they lost. "I'd played for England four weeks again, so what's going on here? "I'd played every game until then and felt like I'd been hung out to dry a little bit. "I loved the Swansea fans in the time I was there, but towards the end there were things written about me and rumours and no-one knew the full extent of what was going on behind the scenes."
We won the Naughton red card appeal. It cost us three points but at least it's officially recognized as an awful call now.
Oh when oh when will a signing come. Being linked with bringing Joe Allen back from Liverpool. I'm actually okay with this reunion, and I'd probably be okay with de Guzman if he is truly healthy. The Sinclair transfer talk is one I am pretty sure I want to go away.
Also Brendan has come out and said he is not against a return to the Liberty. You have to imagine at this point that the reason we haven't signed a new manager and kept Curtis as caretaker is that Huw is desperately waiting for Rodgers triumphant return. Hes gonna look a fool if it doesn't happen. Plus if he wants to come back. Now is the time not when we are a Championship side next year.
So just saw on the supporters trust Facebook group that Leigh Dineen and trunds, along with Mal Brown and others got involved with giving a kid a hell of an 8th birthday to remember because his dad is sick. Fucking awesome response from the supporters as well that made it happen. Reading that made my office get a tad bit dusty. https://www.facebook.com/groups/4998807899/?fref=nf
Graham Lucas 5 hrs · Swansea, United Kingdom If this isn't allowed then pls delete it and pls no nasty comments. I am bringing my son for his FIRST ever premiership game tomorrow night, thanks to a schools offer. It is however his 8th birthday, and could be sadly for me the last one I might be able to enjoy with him due to my health.I have a condition called Chiari Malformation and my condition is getting worse. I am in so much pain with it. I cant even sit down with my son to play with his lego. So due o this I am unable to get to work, so I am ashamed to say I have to rely on social security. I am also waiting for an operation which I might not survive. Is there anything this group to make my sons first match more enjoyable?, we cant afford a shirt to get him and he absolutely loves the goalkeeper. I did ring the stadium and ask if there was anything they could do and they don't seem bothered. He wont get many cards as its only me him, his mum and sister, the rest of the family don't want to know, so if there is anything you guys can do to make him feel special or if ANY one who is on the board is reading this and can make him feel special I would truly appreciate it There are over 200 comments on his post about ways to help him and his son have a memorable time. Leigh Dineen and Trundle got him a Fab shirt as that is his favorite player and some other gear. The other supporters have raised over 500 pounds for them to go wild in the club shop next month. They have a canvas of Fabianski they are getting signed. Random supporters have offered signed boots, jerseys from previous cup ties, they are working with someone to find a way to get them a away trip planned free. Just a really cool response. Just saw this article on it as well. http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...ia-plea-goes/story-28543435-detail/story.html
Missed in all this is that we seemingly have a manager-short term. Supposedly we have hired Francesco Guidolin to work with Alan Curtis.
Some papers are running with a story that Jenkins may sack Curtis soon, after naming him manager through the rest of the season. If you lose at home tomorrow I could actually see that happening. Given the way the whole Monk thing played out the front office has no problem sacking someone with no replacement in mind. I think you desperately need a fresh face to come in as manager to get the most out of the lads. Curtis has been a fixture at the club forever, the players were already very comfortable around him and aren't really going all out to impress and stake their claim to a starting place IMO. Selling first team players with no replacements as yet would be very worrying to me if I supported Swansea. They are in a relegation scrap and other bottom sides are buying, not selling.
I honestly don't see Curtis being sacked, he will just be going to a lesser role again. He shouldn't have been put in the position he was that was poor form by Huw. Its hard to see what the vision is at the moment or what's going on behind closed doors because we are more than half way through the window with 40 rumors and nothing substantial it seems, but I will hold out hope and faith in the board until after the window does close. Its strange to see us go from being known for good business to all of a sudden a heap of shit. I can assure you that we are past the stage of worrying and now its scared shitless.
Yeah, sack wasn't the word I was looking for really. He'd still be with the club in some capacity, just not manager.
oh yeah for sure, I think he would welcome that as well. I think he knows he isn't cut out for the job. Still a club legend though.
Hate working on matchdays but at least I got it recording. Somehow some way I always get a glimpse of the score though.
That was a good first half. Sean's dominated possession and had some chances. Obviously, none of that matters if they don't get that goal. Good cross by Ki. Good finish by the captain and I think Fernandez may have gotten on the end of it if Ash didn't.
We'll be back on NBCSN on Sunday, albeit at 7:30 AM. No FA Cup. No Capital One Cup. No Europa. Just a relegation fight to focus on. It will be interesting to see who the new guy thinks is worthy of playing time.
Stayed off my phone from 2pm central until just now since I got home at 630 and watched the match....it was so worth it. Thought it was a good performance by a lot of players in that 11 but we still have the same needs and weaknesses up front. Got a manager so time to bring some new lads in.
What happened to Montero man, he is getting very little play from Curtis. Barrow looked good for 25 minutes he was on. Real threat each time he gets the ball on the wing.
I have no idea. Apparently he scored a nice goal in the FA Cup loss. I think some of it is him suffering due to the decision not to play Bafé. Jeff isn't going to work as well in that diamond front with Ayew, I don't think. If they go back to the 4-2-3-1, I imagine he gets more minutes.
So Norwich got Naismith for 8.5 mil pounds. Curtis wanted him but Jenkins and the board said no because he was 29 and that the fee was too high. Guess it shows why we are going after a Sinclair with an asking price of 2.5 mil.
Tabanou is back in loan with St. Ettienne officially and of course had nothing positive to give the papers. Complaining that we ask our players to give everything they have til the end. Strange thing with this being a loan is he is due back in the summer and this loan had no permanent option.
Weak own goal to give up, but otherwise a good first half. Just have to keep going in the second. I really don't want them to pack it in like they did against Watford on Monday.
It gets ugly when the Swans pack it in. That last corner should have never happened. The game should have been over when Everton was sucking around with the ball beyond 4 minutes of added time. In any case, that's 3 needed points and the first league win over Everton. We still haven't scored 3 goals in a game this year.
Whew I was about 20-30 minutes behind live TV and that last 20 minutes was brutal on my nerves. Great first half, sloppy second half. Hopefully Guidolin can fix that quickly. Interesting to see how late he waited with his subs. I too hated Amat for Routs because I hate to see us pack it in and try and not concede for 15+ minutes.
As I thought watching yesterday's match. Guidolin is going to most likely keep us playing high energy and high up the pitch, trapping and looking to force mistakes rather than the Monk style of sitting deeper in. This should suit us well, especially up front with or without a new striker. Felt like we saw a refreshing approach from Gylfi.
Also not sure if we will see a true formation change from what we are used to but history under Guidolin shows more three CB's being played. Highly doubt we ever see his 3-5-1-1 or 3-5-2 but I'd bet on Amat getting more time on the pitch as a sub after 60 minutes to hold onto leads when we have them like yesterday.
Drunk as shit and bought Loic Remy in the January window in FIFA 16. He went on to grab a hat trick in his debut. Also a goal from Ayew and Routledge led us to beat Palace 5-0. Good times are on the way yjb. STID.
May be tonight or tomorrow but Paloschi should be announced very soon. I like the signing from what I've read and seen on YouTube. Think he will play well with Ayew.
I like his future, I think it is extremely bright, however I hope this isn't a recall to try and get him in the first team if he couldn't get play time with Den Haag. Maybe he is joining the Under 21's and they think he can get more training there similar to what he did last year, or of course another loan out. Jordi Amat signed a one year extension today as well.
Also people claiming we are still going after Gayle and made an offer Palace intends to accept which is why he didn't make the bench today in the cup. I personally think he's either going somewhere else or he just didn't make the squad. However I guess it wouldn't shock me to see him come in if we are loaning Eder back to Portugal somewhere and selling Gomis before the Window closes. Who knows though.
From all the chatter it seems we will be adding player(s) today but it is getting late.Gayle is signing a new contract with Palace. We've been linked to a ton of midfielders so who knows if we get anyone.
Looks like its going to be Leroy Fer on loan. He was relegated with Norwich in 2014 and with QPR in 2015.
