Bagels are like my favorite food...I highly doubt you could discern between their bagels and good New York bagels.
germantown brewery opening in a week http://nashville.eater.com/2016/1/26/10813146/bearded-iris-brewery-germantown
ya, this is just a myth/joke you hear as a kid and it doesn't surprise me you believe it had some legit bagels in Montreal, which people say is the bagel capital of North America along with NYC (same immigrants). I want to go to proper bagel and test it out... but it seems too popular/clean/expensive right now. bagels shouldn't cost that much in a place that serves expensive as fuck barista parlor coffee with a 45 minute wait. But I'm sure I'll go pick up some bagels one morning and test em out. good bagels are life changing. Onion bagels at Fairmout or St Vitaeur in Montreal cost like 80 cents
I read bagel sandwiches were like 11 bucks. so i figured bagels were like 2 bucks a piece or something stupid
Yea the sandwiches are expensive...the bagels are the same price as anywhere else I've ever gotten a bagel though
you won't catch any shit from me that place blows. menu is weird and overpriced as all fucking get out. so goddamn hipster. I want coffee... and good coffee... but you don't have to sniff your own farts to have good coffee. I can't believe they have 3 spots now. I've never been to Crema, Steadfast, HQ coffee or anything but I assume they are all better than Barista Parlor
I'm sure they'll figure it out but they just need to seperate the order taking and paying or do it faster. It took them like three minutes to take my order of two bagels with cream cheese.
Thought Barista Parlor and Frothy Monkey were the best coffee shops, but didn't check out Steadfast or Bongo. Slow hand was disappointing.
I live in Inglewood. Sip Cafe is my shit. The French Press all of their brewed coffee. That's big for a coffee shop. I walk in and out with my coffee in 1 - 3 minutes depending on the line. Large coffee = right around $3. Fuck everything about barista parlor. The hipster shit that goes on in that place is ridiculous. The guy at the register is more concerned with flipping the vinyl copy of Prince's Purple rain than, you know, taking care of customers already paying way too fucking much.
yep. Went to Seattle this past summer and thought everything would be way too expensive. turns out, competition pushes prices down. Most small coffees are like 1.80 there. lol at going to Barista and paying 4 bucks for a small/medium cup
Enjoyed it the times I've been, but it was always for some girls' birthday during college when their dad let them have ~20 people out to eat/drink on his CC. So, we weren't really focusing on the food or wine.

EAST NASHVILLE - Craft brewery Southern Grist Brewing Co. is slated to open their doors on February 2. Located in the former Boone & Sons market at 1201 Porter Road, the 2,000 square foot brewery will seat 49 guests and offer 12 beers on tap, as well as thin crust pizzas from Germantown's 312 Pizza Co. [The Tennessean] EAST NASHVILLE - Brothers Ryan and Danny Nicoletto are expanding their small batch pasta business and opening a restaurant next to Mickey's Tavern on Gallatin Pike. Nicoletto’s Italian Kitchen will be open for lunch and dinner, serving handmade pasta, sauces, meatballs and more. The location will also serve as a retail space for Nicoletto’s packaged pastas. [The East Nashvillian] DOWNTOWN - Chicago-based Headquarters Beercade appears to finally be getting underway on the construction of their new 2nd Avenue location, having posted to social media that demolition was planned to begin last week. Still too early for an opening date, but check back for more progress updates. [Facebook]
Greetings fellow Nashvillians. I just accepted a position with a company in Franklin, I start March 15th. I'm in need of housing recommendations. Probably closer to the Franklin area at first, I'd be willing to move closer to downtown after a few months. I might just rent a room for the first 3-4 months until I get settled and get a better feel for the area.
Where is the office in Franklin? Is it more in Franklin proper (farther from I-65) or basically Cool Springs (within 1/4 mile of the interstate)? I feel like one of Capstone 88 or Walt Disney was looking at possibly moving down there a few months ago? They may know more about housing than I do. I work in Franklin but live in Nashville.
yeah I live in cool springs now love living down there traffic isnt bad at all if you adopt a 7-4 schedule. Takes me 25 mins to get home from West End vs 15 mins when I lived in Green Hills apartment wise Cadence Cool Springs & Dwell at Mcewan are sweet I'd wait until Cameron at Franklin Park is done Tapestry of Brentwood is like 10 mins from Cool Springs but they are sweet too
oh just saw you start march 15 check out Cameron at Franklin Park imo if you are about the apartment lyfe
I know you said it wouldnt be permanent. But, I would look up in Nashville also if I were you. The Nashville-Franklin commute isnt bad at all. And, depending on your age, I would much rather be around Nashville on the weekends vs Franklin.
I live in Brentwood/Cool Springs. But I also am married with two (almost 3) kids. It's suburbia, which may not be what you're looking for. If I was 32 and single, I would definitely want to live closer to the city. Short-term, it may be a good option to get up here and live really close to work and figure out exactly where you want to live, though, so I get that.
Did you find out anything or should I just go ahead and apply online? Don't want to wait too long and it get filled or pulled or something.
Fuck The Stone Fox is closing 1/31 Congrats to everyone who chose not to go see all the amazing shows they've booked the past 3 years for contributing to its demise. What a massive blow to the city
Not all that shocked. Every time I went there, the service was absolute horseshit. Even when there wasnt a show happening. I get that they had good music, but when you cant get served while you're there, it isnt very appealing.
Man that was one of the nation's most unique venues Thank god Nashville now has NYC caliber bagels to make up for this huge loss
I mean, literally, where it says "Did someone inside the organization refer you?" I want you to say, verbatim, "BIGASSTITTIES, you know, that regular dude with phenomenal hair in IT."
Stone Fox had great shows but certainly isn't a "massive blow to the city". If any city can recover from a good music venue disappearing, its Nashville. Ts and Ps to its regulars.
There isn't another venue in town that will be able to book the shows they did. What shows did you see there? Leon Bridges blew up there a little over a year ago
