FYI Delta only does 2-class service so the best you can get on an Int'l flight is Business with them, but if you've never flown it before you're still going to love it. Edit: catching up and I see you realized that. Like I said though you're going to love it.
Bangalore isn't anything special. Kerala is supposed to be sweet but I did Goa instead which I would recommend but not sure how settled into your itinerary you are. Food is great. Don't eat street food.
So my friend who lives in Madrid is coming home for a few weeks about the same time I leave Spain. A one way from Madrid to Charlotte is more expensive than my round trips, including the leg I'm on being 550 more bucks by itself than with the other leg. Flights are stupid
Got to the airport this morning for my 9am flight and realized I left my laptop bag at home. Had to change to a 12:30 flight and go back home to get it.
I shit you not, something like this happened to me recently. Not nearly as important as my laptop (I had that + a gym bag), but I effing forgot my suitcase before a long weekend trip. How is that even possible?
Zika fucking my shit all up. It's not really making me re-think my trip, but my GF and Mom are freaking out.
I'm thinking about getting the citi prestige card. The 450 bucks seems like a lot but getting 250 bucks yearly in airline credit, 4th night free at hotels, lounge access, free green fees (I don't golf, but friends do) and the 50k sign up bonus is pretty amazing
$634 RT to #HONGKONG on from all US @cathaypacificUS airports late summer/fall #travel https://t.co/BzjZjiIjOn
Getting back from Central America today and I had no fears. Have you actually read in depth about it? Hardly much to worry about if you are a male. Millions of cases worldwide a year. Only 1 in 5 males that get affected become symptomatic and it is basically like getting the flu. My sis and mom are nurses and were freaking out the entire time, twas obnoxious
Yea, I've actually read and become somewhat educated on it. There's pretty much no risk to males. The things that's worrisome is that it can be transmitted from me to a female via sex, and then that female could be at risk re: baby with small head/undeveloped brain. Like you said, still an astronomically low chance, but women.
I thought I read 2 years today, then just seeing now I see that it can stay in your blood for 28 days, and there are 2 confirmed cases (in 2008 and 2015) of it actually being transmitted sexually http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/zi...ika-virus-spread-here-s-what-you-need-n513691
Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Heard great things about that city and it's a 2hr 30 min flight to Bali. Could knock out both in one trip and get the city and the beach/jungle.
Have to buy this today, Orlando to Santiago for 295. If I wasn't going to Spain I'd be all over this http://faredealalert.com/2016/02/10...de-chile-chile-roundtrip-including-all-taxes/
It's like $100 and includes TSA Pre-check as well. Believe it lasts five years then you have to renew but not positive. It's an absolute no brainer if you leave the country once a year (GE) and/or fly a decent amount for work (TSA). TSA Pre-check is $80 on it's own. I travel a decent amount internationally for work and this thing has paid for itself many times over in the 18 months since I got it.
PJP3 Question re: Iguazu. Hard to find consistent info online (1) I'm planning on flying in from Rio-->Iguazu (Brazil side), and land at 12:30. Is that enough time to see the Brazilian side before the park closes (I guess 3-4 hours)? Figure I get out of the airport at 1. The Brazilian park looks really close to the airport, too. I may only do a helicopter ride, then bus to Puerto Iguazu in Argentina. Not worried about how late I get into Puerto Iguazu after seeing the Brazil side. (2) 2nd day in Iguazu I'm doing the Argentina side. If I fly from Iguazu (Argentina)-->Buenos Aires at 4 PM, is that enough time to see the Argentina side? I wanna say I'll wake up at 7-8, but realistically I'll likely get to the Argentina Park at 9-10, so would that be enough time to see that side and catch my 4 PM flight? About 4, maybe 5 hours? How far is the airport from the Argentina park?
A train at Atocha station may be difficult to make that, especially in the evening. My group arrived at customs at around 11am and it was very quick, probably 15 minutes. If you are using the subway system that might be a little bit doable, but I would still be nervous to make it.
Submitted my resume for a consulting company that has unlimited PTO and will also get me a raise. The catch is that they work you pretty hard, so taking time off can actually set you back a bit. (Worth it)
Oh okay, yea it shouldn't be much of a problem just depends on how many international (Trans-Atlantic) flights land that morning. I assumed it was a train, I added the subway map just in case you would take the subway from Barajas Airport to the Atocha train station. The Renfe trains are very nice too, wish we had a system like that in the US.
Awesome, thanks. I haven't looked in to how to get to the train station at all yet since I don't go until the end of may
Absolutely worth it. I don't have any set PTO or vacation days, I'm just expected to get my work done and can take off as much time as I want. Just get your shit done and don't leave people hanging. I've worked at least one day every weekend since January 12 after the natty, and will work most weekends in Feb. But that work is sandwiched between a week+ in the BVIs and a week in Dublin. I think I worked something like 19 straight days, including weekends, before jetting to Peru. I'll take that trade 11 times out of 10.
Might be easier to take the subway, since traffic can be a hella bitch in downtown Madrid and around the train station. Looks like 2 line changes can get you to Atocha. Barajas to Mar de Cristal to Bilbao to Atocha Renfe
I would also like to know, what type of jobs do you have that allow for you to travel so much, I am so envious.
You will be cutting it too close!! Atocha is in the city center and the airport outside of the city. You would need perfect timing here but at that time I doubt it. Unlike Sants in Barcelona, Atocha can be hard to navigate especially if you are not with a local. Where are you going? Can you catch a later train?
Yeah I can. There's no real hurry, I was just trying to gauge when the first one I could make would be. Going to sevilla
I haven't. I have two cousins studying abroad there this semester so if it's doable Ill crash with one of them. If it's too tight I'll just find a hostel
Id like to do a day in Cadiz. Will be going back to madrid for 4 days or so, I have a good friend who lives there. Should come out really well on housing on this one
Sounds like you will save a lot. Cadiz, Alicante, and Bilbao are the cities I want to visit the next time I am over there, I hear Bilbao is great.
I didn't do brazilian side, but I would say yes, should be plenty of time. Everything I read said a day for argentina, a half for brazil, and after about 2-3 hours on the argentina side I was good, so for me, those numbers would be too much time, although a lot of the argentine side was closed because a giant flood had ripped out a lot of the bridges. I'd say what you have planned should be sufficient. I don't think you'll be rushed on either side and have plenty of time to make your flight. I'm also almost positive they have lockers at the park to store your bag so you don't have to go back into town. The airport is closer to the falls than it is to puerto iguazu. For reference, look up sheraton iguazu, that's basically where you start to see the argentine side of the falls. You might want to take a cab to cross the border though, just for simplicity. Our driver just took our passports into the office and took care of everything, we never had to get out of the cab. I had heard it can be a longer process by bus because they have to clear everyone and there's two stops to make, the argentine customs and the brazilian, and I think you have to change buses at the border. I don't remember the cost of the cab from the falls in argentina to the hotel in brazil being particularly expensive.
