torn on this. they haven't ever faced legitimate armies in the books but by their reputations I think they are pretty much supposed to be the Mongols. If that's the case, armor and arrows will help but you ain't stopping the mongols with whats left of Westerosi chivalry.
Yeah I think Euron probably wipes out the dothraki at sea. Also think he has to team up with Cersei considering they have a mutual enemy.
I go back and forth on who ends up where and doing what, but think I've decided Tyrion ends up ruling Westeros.
RE: Targ succession on the show. Kit Harington was billed over Emilia Clarke for the first time ever Sunday night. Could be nothing but given that the title sequence featured two other Easter eggs, maybe there's something to it.
I still can't get over the music for the first 20 minutes. I feel like I need a music major to educate me on major and minor keys to understand the emotional impact it adds On 5th watch though, the Davos scene is the one that still hits me the hardest. Liam Cunningham is just too fucking good. Call me a wuss if you need to, but when he chokes out "she was good and she was kind and you killed her" I'm shedding a tear or two.
Was just making a bad attempt at a dbl joke (Bama too low) Joking aside that pic is awesome and made me want to play with Legos again.
Season 7 directors are official. Unfortunately no Sapochnik. Alan Taylor is coming back though. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/06/29/game-thrones-season-7
So with that dotted pink line, are they cutting out the ambiguity about Lyanna going with Rhaegar against her will? I always thought that Ned initially thought she was taken against her will (like Robert), but when he met with her in the ToJ, he realized she went with Rhaegar willingly. Rhaegar didn't seem like the abduction type.
I'm on board with Jahaerys(?) being Jons real name. Matches up with the past ones as far as the type of person. Also think the original married his half sister/cousin or something like that. Jon+Sansa??
Maybe he'll do better with more interesting stories? He's done a bunch of episodes of Shameless (which I did not know about until reading that article) and I love that show. The directors can only work with what is written for them. Sapochnik realizing they weren't going to be able to finish The Battle of the Bastards as it was originally written then coming up with the crush scene somewhat on the fly is what makes him better though so his absence is definitely unfortunate.
it could be she was technically kidnapped but by the end of it she came to love Rhaegar or something.
imo she wasn't kidnapped at all. Robert just couldn't fathom his betrothed running off with another man. Lyanna and Rhaegar fell in love at the Tourney of Harrenhall when Rhaegar was instructed to find the Knight of the Laughing Tree and he found Lyanna.
This is my "what if" opine as well, it's not too far fetched she might like to stage her base of operations from her ancestral stronghold, though I'm unsure if Dragonstone might accomodate her full army space wise. Also with Varys on board the queens ship, it's highly likely dany and co. Are aware of cersei's tactical nuke of kings landing, seemed like that would/could have been conversed on in that closing shot.
From a fighting the white walkers perspective dragon stone is as good as it gets. Obsidian and a big friggin moat. And a very cool map. Plus she was born there. I'm fully onboard team dragonstone.
Davos also knows there is dragonglass there...perhaps dragon slut finds out about "The Great War" to come and puts her conquest on hold a while...
https://aboveaverage.com/george-r-r...-nerd-to-finish-game-of-thrones/?kwp_0=111630 Spoiler My loyal fans, I dearly wish I was writing to tell you that The Winds of Winter, the 6th Game of Thrones book, was complete. I wish I had a freshly printed copy to hand each and every one of you. But here is truth: it’s not done. It’s not even close to done. Look, I’ve been writing these books for twenty years, I’m sixty-seven — I’m losing steam. So I’m writing to announce that I plan to pull a Wonka and find a young, eager nerd to finish Game of Thrones once and for all. For those of you who are not familiar with the plot of Willy Wonka, allow me to explain. Mr. Wonka, reclusive owner of the world famous Wonka Chocolate Factory, is weary of running his saccharine empire. So, through the guise of a tour, he interviews young candidates to take over his factory. The most pure of heart wins the factory and Wonka is allowed to retire in fudge-y bliss. My plan is the same. Right now, there are 5 parchment tickets hidden in volumes of A Song of Fire and Ice. The lucky 5 to find these tickets will be asked to submit writing samples to my editor who, in consultation with myself and HBO, will choose my successor. Because, guys, I really cannot bring myself to write even word one of The Winds of Winter. Truth be told, my age is only a part of it. The other part is you. You nerds figured out the whole thing. Of course Lyanna Stark is Jon Snow’s mother. And Rhaegar Targaryen is his father. Jon Snow is the Song of Fire and Ice. It really takes some of the wind out of man’s sails when, after 20 years of build-up, a Reddit lurker susses out your big secret. Yeah, you guys truly do have the whole thing basically outlined, which is more than I can say for myself. So, go find those tickets. Send me your outlines. And don’t even think about complaining. I’m happy to release a 20-page Winds of Winter that will make the Red Wedding look like a tea party. Tyrion will be the first to fall. -GRRM Get Laughs in Your Inbox From Above Average! We PROMISE to only send you funny stuff. Jackie Jennings - Staff writer/actor whose work has appeared on SyFy.com, Fusion and Funny or Die.
Random thought I just had, we didn't see shit else from Kinvara. Figured that would be a huge deal and she would become the "Mel" of Dany's squad.
That scene where she tells Varys about "when he was cut" was an overlooked jewel imho, just Varys facial expressions, especially when she asks him "if he'd like her to tell him what the voice said"... Though it leaves one to wonder if it changed Varys's opinion on magic any or at all.
So do we definitively know who is AA? Tbh, im not even sure that the tPwwP and AA are the same person. Probably are but i dont think its confirmed in either canon. Maester aemon and most of the red priests think its dany. Mel now thinks its Jon and the show hints that way as well. Rhaegar appears in Danys warlock dream and says its his son Aegon. So who is it and does who it is matter? If jon and dany couple up would one of them have to quench light bringer in the heart of the other? That could qualify as "bittersweet."
That conversation was one of the first spoilers for this past season(came out soon after last season ended) and was just as awesome reading it as it was watching. Actually on page 1. Almost word for word the same.
