This has literally been the only offseason in his life that he spent set dedicated to getting ready for the next football season. Excited for what he could be this year.
To be fair, Philly's first team offense only played 1 series. The team does look better, but have to see it for what it is.
Training camp assistant so just pretty much miscellaneous shit during camp. It was ill fated last season for Freeman and Schiano.
Look at the schedule this year and then tell me that. I could honestly see this team winning 5 games.
we may win 5 games because bucs but making any conclusions based on the preseason is hilariously dumb
I said this when the schedule came out. Having to play the AFCW and NFCW is pretty brutal and I do expect the team to improve.
Simmer down there. Although we're definitely fucked if Aguayo ends up sucking. Shit pisses me off so much. Barth was a good kicker. We could've added a good linemen on either side with that stupid Aguayo pick.
My bad, was referring to the season as a whole. Wasn't factoring in Aguayo in my statement, just the fact that the schedule is brutal for a marginal team.
That's a terrible sign for a kicker imo. It's a glorified scrimmage and you have jitters to the point where you're missing an automatic kick?
came back and made a fg at least still not a good look to come in and miss your first kick ever inside of 40 yards
and winston threw a pick-6 on his first throw. and that was in an actual NFL game. who cares? people can have the pointless debate of whether it was a "good" pick or not, but missing a pre-season kick is in no way indicative of his future NFL career, especially for a guy that's shown to come up huge in big moments over the last few years
Oline has actually had a really good push and opening up lanes. Agree with above. No one can seem to get open.
Even as a Gator fan too, I've been defending the Aguayo pick. I liked it. Not sure how I feel anymore. Hated when he said he got "butterflies" after missing that first XP. How the fuck does a kicker get butterflies before a kick?!?! And then he misses 2 more kicks game 2....Not a good sign.
He's probably somewhere between the greatest kicker and the worst kicker to ever play the game. Either way it's safe to assume going up to the second round for him was a reach. Won't know that it was a worthwhile move until five years down the road.
yeah I never minded the logic behind taking one of the GOAT kickers with our 3rd pick considering how miserable our kicking has been and how important it is in today's game. it's really, really fucking important. I don't care about the draft pick or the criticism, I just want him to be the kicker we saw in college and I'll be happy I also don't understand the "butterflies" comment. dude's hit kicks in national championship games but an XP in a practice game made him nervous? come on bro now I'm just annoyed that we're going to discuss this every time he misses a kick this season. we've had 2 preseason games and the only discussion has been about the kicker. we made the pick, let's just move on and hope he turns out to be the kicker we hoped. hopefully he works this out
compared to brindza he was "good". he was still a below average, aging kicker with a pretty weak leg who cost us big in a couple games last year. he bounced around from team to team for a reason hopefully aguayo figures it out or we're in for a long season
on a happier note I have a 5-game ticket package this year so I'm looking forward to watching the misery in person
Think you're selling him short. iirc he's always been above 80% on the season and had good percentages from 50+. I also remember seeing a stat where he never missed in the 4th quarter last year, or something along those lines. Really hope Aguayo gets his shit together before these actually count.
I didn't really get to watch much after the first 2 drives. Saw VH3 had 2 picks. Did Noah Spence or anyone else flash at all?
