Manchester United @ManUtd 4h4 hours ago We’ll face Northampton at Sixfields Stadium in the third round of the @EFLCup on either 20 or 21 September. #MUFC
This team should walk through these teams, but Turkey and Ukraine aren't the most favorable away games.
Did i see fellaini earlier hit a pintpoint diagonal to martial... Who is this fellaini?! Oh wait theres the regular yellow card.
I would love to see us drop fellani and play a back 5 with bailley blind and smelling and then Valencia and Shaw as wing backs so they can get forward more with out having to drop as deep. Thoughts?? Ibra Martial..............Rooney................Mata Pogba Shaw............................................Valencia Blind.....Smalling....Bailley De Gea
Mata our best player imo. Wont even harp on wayne bc we all know he has of course given away the ball numerous times. Martial and shaw still need to work out chemistry it seems.
more like Rooney. Brilliant this second half, whole damn team. Should be at least 2-0 after the terrible penalty decision.
Mkhitaryan has to start the next match, inexcusable if he doesn't imo. Rashford probably should too, Martial just doesn't look comfortable right now.
I should add that Roon should've been delivering some better corners all second half. In these types of games, that's basically the reason he's on the pitch.
either way, the 60-minute substitute is brilliant. Either you're bringing on Rashford, Micky, or Martial to get the late goal and put pressure on bus-parkers. Love it; reminds me of Solskjaer.
So we finally really get to see Mkhitaryan and he changed the whole game. Mata played well in the first half, but he's just not as dynamic as Mkhitaryan. If Martial isn't going to play well then I got no problem starting Rashford as well. We have so much talent this year, finally feels like a Manchester United team again.
How good is Bailley too? He's all over the field and just a beast in the air and on tackles. Blind compliments him so well too with how he reads the game.
He really has been. Playing his role well. Seemed like every time Hull could have a counter chance he stepped in and chested down, played it wide quickly. re: Smalling, I agree you don't change something that isn't broken. Let Bailly and Blind play it out. But Smalling is a pretty damn calm presence as well and eventually Blind will get beaten on a header against teams that actually play. re: Micky, he's my favorite kind of playmaker. So quick with the ball but doesn't try to blow past defenders, just wants to attract extra defenders and put pressure on. Always composed, always thinking one step further.
I cant even rag on wayne, he did his part in the end and it really was a brilliant move and pass on his part
I think the Blind/Bailly combination has been great, but to be fair it's not like we've played any great offensive sides yet. The Derby should be a good gauge of how good the pairing actually is.
Pogba wasn't great with his finishes but he's the metronome making the thing work. Seems like Rooney's relieved to be doing less of that work whereas Pog is energetic enough to do it well. If "best player" awards were truly more than "best goalscorer" awards, he'd be way up there in the top ten for me.
Smalling and bailly will have to be the pairing eventually. Who knows blind is so versatile anyone goes down he can fill in. Whether its across back four or maybe even dm if it gets to that with fellainis injury.
Any chance to see blind move up to play a cdm position and have Smalling and Bailly in the back with go Pogba playing more CM roam
Aguero has been charged with violent conduct by the FA, looking very likely that he will miss the derby.
Surprised we haven't seen any real first team players move on this summer. It will be interesting to see how he gets some of the guys down the pecking order involved.
The downside of being able to pay higher ways than all but a handful of other clubs. Players don't want to transfer and take a pay cut, and most clubs can't afford to pay all the wages without us paying a percentage. It will definitely be interesting to see what he does with guys like Rojo, Darmian, Memphis, and Schneiderlin tho. Sounds like Mou has absolutely no intention of playing Schweini at all and it's going to be sad to see a player of his caliber end their career watching from the stands. I'd guess he takes a look at the MLS after this season.
I'm not sure Pogba meant that lol Hopefully martial gets going. Divorce must be taking its toll. Pussy always the downfall.
Mkhitaryan is going to be out for 7-10 days according to the Armenian FA. He picked up a knee injury after a collision during their friendly with the Czech Republic. Was really hoping he would get his first start in the derby next Saturday.
