If it had been Rom that had taken the penalty and the exact same thing happened, it might have ruined him forever. He played with a "Cristiano Ronaldo with the Golden Boot against Messi on the line" attitude. Ending his goalless streak looked to be the only thing on his mind. We'd probably have 1 point instead of 7 if not for him. Ross needs to buy him something nice because he has been masking how often he gives the ball away. And thank god that he came from Villa or else I'd be concerned about him getting frustrated with his teammates for getting so little from his efforts. He's probably happy as a clam to be anywhere else.
You sad that I'm not going to revive your ochosissoko moniker? Ace Boogie would be an adequate replacement.
I love this from the losing side of a transfer battle. Our team is better today than it was yesterday. He would have made your team better as well. Congrats on saving 30 million of someone else's money.
Losing side? The fee would have been the number one thing we would have been made fun of for at least the next couple years. The guy played 37 league matches last season, scored just one goal and deservedly got relegated. A couple of decent showings at the Euro's (where he was surrounded by teammates like Griezzman, Pogba, and Payet who occupied the opposition defence) is all he has done in two years. You just sold a player that has been twice as productive for less than half the price of Sissoko in Chadli.
Whatever helps you sleep at night, Coach. We can afford to take a flyer with all of the shrewd signings we've made in recent years that have since blown up in value should we ever decide to cash in. That and all the tv money, 30 million is a drop in the bucket in today's market. Poch must have believed he can properly motivate Sissoko to sanction a move for him, and a properly motivated Sissoko can be a game changer.
He'll certainly have better players around him at spurs than he did at newcastle...just saying. 5-1, etc, I know, I know
I'll sleep much better knowing that we've got thirty million to bring in someone like Juan Mata in January after Mourinho inevitability turns on him.
Apparently all the Premier League Belgians agreed to rent a private jet to fly back to England after the international break. There were players from United, City, Liverpool, Burnley and Everton on board. All but one club agreed to pay their players share of the bill. That would be our Toffees. Pick any two players on the squad that I would least want this kind of thing to happen to and I would pick Lukaku (I'm sure his asshole agent has been raising hell about this) and Mirallas. I guess we used all our plane money on Sissoko.
I was a bit surprised when Rom mentioned working with Roberto helped him return to good form. Probably one of his happiest moments in the last two years for Martinez. I still really like Roberto as a person even with his horrible last two seasons at Everton. Sadly being a nice and delightful guy means Roberto will never be a great manager. I can't imagine Roberto casting out huge stars like Schweini and Joe Hart. He didn't even have the heart to tell Leon Osman or Tony Hibbert that their days were over.
This went under the radar because of the hat trick. I'm starting to see why the club were actually entertaining the idea of selling McCarthy. They probably would have if Barry wasn't 58 years old.
I want us to get Schweinsteiger on loan in January. He and Gueye would play well together but mostly I want a Schweini Everton jersey. And being a Mourinho castoff is almost a guarantee that the player will be great at his next club. Casillas is pretty much the only time he has gotten it right.
Gana is our best player at the moment. The only thing he did wrong Monday is keep Rom from scoring a fourth by tripping him on accident.
I'm not sucked Gueye is lower than he should be. In reality Gana and McCarthy's rankings should be swapped. Idrissa is a 76 which is only one point higher than Aiden McGeady. Top notch evaluation from EA on that one.
Really wish our game was right now. Wife is at breakfast with some friends and I wanted to devote my viewing at 11 to FSU Louisville but such is life
I have it on my 2nd monitor. Not paying super close attention. However the ball is rarely in our offensive 3rd when I catch a glance
