the offense failing to score yesterday was pitiful. we should've gotten more. i'm still supportive of bronco. we will be 3-9 or 4-8 this season
I haven't watch any of your games, but who will you beat? At the moment you will be dogs to every team on your schedule.
Duke's winnable because they're bad and lost their starting QB. Wake is better under Clawson, don't see you winning that one. If you upset CMU then 3 wins might happen but if not I don't think you could expect more than 1-2 wins at most.
yesterday was close. i feel like we can play teams that way in the acc and luck into something. someone will overlook us and stoop to our level.
I think we all expected Bronco would need some turnaround time but I really thought 6-6 and a bowl this year was doable. I have a lot of friends who are already jumping ship on Bronco but I'm withholding judgment. I supported London for so long and really ended up looking like an ass for it at the end, so I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to go defend Bronco now. BYU fans warned this would happen btw.
no reason to realistically support firing Bronco but certainly can't blame anyone for not being sold on him now.
I still think in terms of philosophy and fit, we could not have realistically made a better hire. Would love to see who people that want to fire Bronco would have us bring in.
That's pretty much where I'm at. I think he'll get it turned around but I wouldn't bet money on it. If we do end up having to fire him down the road it's gonna be hard as hell to attract a good coach.
i just looked at the threads on 247. couldn't believe it was so bad. lol so... new coaches, new Offensive system, new Defensive system, starting qb with 3 games under his belt, most of team is not incredibly talented, and the team is coming off a terrible run of suck. that alone is causing me to hold off my expectations this year. i trusted London until the phil sims bullshit. i'm willing to bronco much more time. right now is crazy though.
Still haven't even checked 247 or the Sabre since Richmond. Don't know if it's impressive self restraint or just hopelessness.
i was wondering when i watched the game, is Dex a legit DC? At UVA he was moved around to 4 or 5 different positions and never once brought up as a possible coordinator. virginia t fans considered him a recruiter and cheerleader type coach and i feel like many of our fans did the same.
maybe our online fan base couldn't get over the backwards visor he wore. too much flavor on the chicken i suppose.
Dex is a good coach and good teacher. I imagine a lot of the scheme comes from Diaco because Dex only spent a year or two on the defensive staff wit Groh
There were clear and obvious - and smartly done - adjustments from uconns D to counter the dink and dunk. If it was dexs call, I was impressed
First game I'm watching beginning to end today. Team does not have the attitude of an 0-3 team, which is a good start. It would be nice if good football followed.
I'm having a hard time with furbank being our best option to kick field goals. Other than that, awesome fucking start by everyone.
At a school where every student looks like a college kicker, you would think one of them could be a pretty good college kicker.
Benkert is killing me. The line is actually protecting pretty well but he rolls out of the pocket and throws on the run on every throw that isnt a three step drop. There's no pressure, just step up in the pocket.
I seriously feel like a battered woman. Why do I keep thinking he'll change? Why do I keep coming back to him? Why do I keep forgiving him?
That is awesome to hear. I've missed the last 2 games so I haven't witnessed this, but they called his name a lot on the radio. He's the key to our D being pretty good IMO.
How did the young corners look? It sure sounded like they were getting burnt a lot, but sounded like they showed some potential.
like everyone else on defense it's a coin toss what we're gonna get from play to play. robinson, gibson, and thornhill could be a good group for the next few years. they all flash
Listening to Koehn on the radio is brutal, it feels like you never really know whats going on. Cov is really good though, even if he does talk about texting back and forth with the players too much.
"Seriously, that was really encouraging. The defense is night-and-day from our game against UR. Still don't like seeing corners get burned by MAC receivers, but the improvement on the edges borders on mindboggling. While our offense felt like it took a step back, last week, I thought the margin between success and failure was narrow. Today, that extra push, extra step, extra wiggle....those things seemed to connect and produce positive outcomes. Maybe I'm too deep in the Kool-Aid, but I expect to see more of that next week. The improvement in execution is visible. That's all we can ask for. Loved the energy, passion, and resilient attitude on the sideline. These guys are learning how to win and it's fundamentally different from what I've seen the last few years. Really happy with today's effort. Let's go peckerslap Cutcliffe and take some mojo into the bye." from 247
I know its minor shit, but it really fucking pisses me off. Does it bug the shit out of anyone else that every post JO makes he has to put in a fucking bolt? You click a link, then click another link to get to read 3 fucking sentences. Or on desktop ads just start playing at random. Maybe its me, I dunno, but I expect better than the mickey mouse shit 247 has going on. My sub runs out 10/10 and I think I'm done. Hell twitter breaks more news than JO now a days anyway. May go back to rivals, atleast it seems like Brad cares, JO's pretty much mailed it in.
does 247 just do that for clicks? has to be some way of squeezing a buck. brad seemed to have a lot more preseason articles up.
