• The question is no longer if Jeffrey Loria will sell the Marlins. It’s how quickly. According to people briefed on the situation in the past week, Loria is fully expected to sell the team sometime this year, barring an unforeseen change of heart. He has decided it’s time to move on from baseball. The Marlins are actively engaged in discussions with four groups and have had additional conversations with two others. MLB is aware of the identity of the Marlins suitors, which include both local and out-of-town investors. The Marlins, as of Friday, had not struck a deal with any of the six suitors but would like to reach an agreement with someone in the coming months, with closing and MLB approval before the end of the year. Doesn't change anything really in the macro sense. Still a senseless tragedy that should have been avoided. In the micro sense, his estate is going to take a hit. Hopefully the life insurance policy was large because a settlement won't be able to touch that
I know it's not going to happen, but the Marlins need to do something other than a moment of silence prior to the game on opening day for Jose. Show a highlight reel and then have a moment of celebration where everyone cheers and then have his mom, grandma, and baby mama throw out the first pitch all at once.
I actually wouldn't doubt that they'll make a big deal out of it and put his number up somewhere in the stadium
They absolutely will. Just saying that I think it should be more of a celebration of his life rather than a somber moment
The season opener just had a void in it Feels weird bc I thought JF would be playing in Miami for years
They said on the Mets radio broadcast that since 2015 the Marlins have hit the most HRs against the Mets with 25. The next closest team is Philadelphia with 16
Was a lot of puns used on the broadcast last night Don Cattingly Jose Purrrnandez or Furrnandaz Jeff Coninelives
