Generally I’m not into players being on twitter during the season since it seems that more often then not they get themselves in trouble for saying something stupid, however I’m loving them flaming the shit out of Luke del rio
5 years ago today was Louisville. In my opinion that was the moment we took a huge step forward to becoming the program we all know today.
Also anyone have any idea what time or when the Navy game will be announced? Considering going to that game if it's not a noon kickoff.
Crazy how underranked UL was that year. We were their only loss, they should have been top 10 and we should have been prob top 5.
I can only imagine if our current coaching staff had that same roster how good we would have been. George did everything he could to hold back that offense. Taaffe succeeded in spite of GOL's bullshit opinions on ball control.
Bortles, Storm, Worton, Perriman, Hall, Godfrey, Reese. A good ass OL. Man if GOL would have retired before that squad.
Looking over that schedule and I almost had a heart attack all over again. We barely beat Penn State Memphis(Stanback nailed the KR) Louisville(Godfrey catch) Houston(was driving but lOl'korn) Temple(Worton making the best catch ever) USF(Ozerities INT) SMU
In the regular season was it 2 losses? Honestly don't remember. For some reason I thought it was always a 1-loss team
I really don't know the craziest of those. It's either Houston or Temple as far as what the game came down to. I'll go with Houston since it's feasible we score on Temple anyway.
But it wasn't just the catch was it? Didn't we get the ball back and Hall made like 3 great catches for a FG to win it?
What I remember most about Temple is that Worton had a great game but I think Halls game was even better. Both of them had 3 or 4 catches in that game that could have been highlight type toe taps and dives. It might be the single best game for a WR group we've ever had.
It’s calls like this that’s the reason I like Marc Daniels on the radio. He has a good voice for radio and is a professional broadcaster that paints a good picture of the action on the field but when it comes down to it he is as much of a fan as all of us Also I’m pretty sure Blake cracked a rib on this play that affected him the rest of the season. He was only 100% again at the fiesta bowl
I was listening to that temple game on the radio while at Florida mall. We had people visiting from out of town who wanted to go shopping, so I was like fine but I’m just going to listen to radio while you shop. Was sitting outside some store listening and when hall made that 30 yard catch to get us down in field goal range, I jumped off the bench and yelled. Some dude sitting like 5 stores down who was apparently also listening, also jumped up and yelled. We looked at each other and he ran down to me and hugged me while we listened to the end of the game jumping up and down and high fiving . The tourists probably thought it was an odd thing to see.
We’d lose that game if it was today. that hit would have been flagged, reviewed, and stanback ejected. He anniliated that dude
Too bad his color guy yelled over his call. Daniels is quality but his sidekick doesn't know his role, unfortunately.
The next day Daniels had to call a basketball game iirc and his voice was all fucked up from yelling it out at the end of this game
Stanback run vs. Rutgers i always remember vividly. Was insane how he just knocked that guy out of the way.
Can't imagine thinking this USF team that has struggled with the worst of FBS in ECU and Tulsa is going to go undefeated. Interesting that 3 of the 5 think we go undefeated. Really wish Temple didn't choke early because they would be another good win if they had started strong. https://www.si.com/college-football/2018/10/18/predictions-new-years-six-heisman-race-upsets-playoff
Need 2 SEC teams, Notre Dame, and Clemson to get in. Guarantee we’ll start hearing expansion talk once 3 P5 conferences are left out.
I really don't understand how you can look at USF and UCF side by side, have to choose one, and choose them. Granted they can totally rise to the occasion and win but I just don't see the evidence of that happening.
