I hate the fact that royalty still exists and I hate the generation of middle aged school marms that love to fantasize about being turned into a princess gbr nfm love it or leave it America
DBL is now TMB official Royal Watcher. I know he will serve this post with the honor it demands. Unfortunately the position only pays $85,000 a year so you’ll probably have to get a Netflix deal and start a podcast company. You do get to stay in one of Tyler Perry’s homes until you figure everything out.
Haha na I'm good. I'll go back to not caring in a few days. I just find it odd that so many people will come up with their own reasons to disregard what Harry and Meghan said happened and were their reasons.
I can’t believe you fucking people are still talking about this and I can’t believe I’m reading every word of it.
New Zealand seems like incredible place to live. While people may know that Australians and New Zealanders were the best troops Britain had in WW1, both countries also sent forces to Vietnam. Though, New Zealand was more dubious about the whole endeavor, they followed Australia's lead. And Anzac soldiers were far better than US forces. They didn't commit atrocities and performed better. The NVA and Vietcong couldn't sneak up on them, and they were scared shitless of the Kiwis, thinking they were cannibals.
It’s not about siding with Megan but finally something that has England talking about how racist they are. Somehow, calling every black player that fucks up a nigger barely registers but maybe this can. biggest problem is obviously right wing tabloids
If we really want to get crazy, let's cross reference people claiming to not give a fuck about Meghan's situation "because she signed up for it" with those up in arms about how Britney Spears has been treated and see if we have differences there
Apples to oranges. I’m team Meghan and team #freebritney, but a 36 year old who had already been married and was already a celebrity isn’t remotely comparable to a child being exploited as a sex symbol.
I’m shocked that people are shocked that the Royal Family in England may actually be a little bit racist This is the same country who voted for Boris Johnson and voted to exit the EU because of immigration and not willing to share with others like Gunners says they still openly use the n-word with free range
when the Queen supported the removal of Apartheid, the reaction was met with shock and awe and not only because it was one of the first times the Queen said something about a “political matter” Guess where the white people in South Africa were from at the time? Do I believe the Royal Family are not the best people? Yes. That one is easy. Do I feel bad for Meghan? Absolutely fucking not.
Not sure who this is referring to, but the N word isn't very common here at all. Lots of disparaging terms, but more old school "its not really offensive, but it is" type of thing.
the british media’s coverage of raheem sterling for doing things like buying his mom a house and getting an anti gun violence tattoo would make fox news blush
Without defending the action, I can understand why a young kid raised in british nobility would lack perspective and think that was funny. I'm sure he probably regrets that considering he doesn't seem to actually sympathize with nazis.
I mean, at what age and in what world was dressing as a Nazi ever considered OK or something that could be laughed off?
I don't think anyone is laughing it off. He did something stupid as a 20 yr old 15 years ago. Bringing it up now comes across as "He sucks so I don't feel bad that him and his wife were treated poorly."
"Area man experiencing severe trauma as a child doesn't have the best decision making abilities as an adult" More at 11
I'm sure you never did anything stupid at 20 and wouldn't mind people judging you today off of you 15 years ago.
I think a lot of people have at a little internet edgelord in them (I still do to an extent) and when you're young it can lead to some dumb decisions.
lol at the old stuff some people will dig up to dismiss blatant racism and weirdly defend a literal monarchy.
It’s a swastika. He wore a fucking swastika. I don’t want to go look for what some on here have said about black face and compare those takes to excusing a swastika. One mistake isn’t a complete picture of who he is but he shouldn’t get a complete pass and having it waved of as some kid making a bad joke.
Nobody is giving him a pass. Did you do something stupid at 20? I'm going to assume yes. Do people judge you by that today? I hope not. Bringing up old shit to dismiss what happened to the person now is gross.
more a theoretical question but I think it can apply here - if you're raised racist by a racist family, at what age do you need to take ownership of that and make changes/distance yourself?
Not sure there's a set age but I think that number is going down due to being able to access different views more readily via the internet and social media now.
I dismissed what happened? I am simply saying that dismissing what he did as some youthful indiscretion isn’t right. Maybe Big Meech did it as for that reason I don’t know enough about him to say he did or didn’t but I know I didn’t dismiss anything. I’ve seen enough black face discussions on here that I’m kinda shocked that this is being pushed aside like it’s no big deal.
"Literal monarchy?" They don't rule a thing. And I am not defending them at all. Just recognizing that the guy accusing his family of blatant racism has been, in fact, a blatant racist.
it depends on what you mean. I think around 13 is when you can or do start to express your individuality. I think about 18-21 is when you can’t hide behind not understanding it’s wrong. Maybe even a little younger. That picture of him at 20 is too old for him not to understand how fucked up that shit was.
^^^ this guy just found out about the Nazi stuff because, as of Monday, he knew nothing of the royal family, but now he knows all.
Nobody is saying it's not a big deal. When someone gets shot by the cops and they immediately bring up that he was arrested 10 years earlier for petty theft, is that ok? No. Not trying to equate an arrest to wearing a swastika, just saying that bringing up old things to brush past what is happening now is really shitty. As much as you see cops do it in the bad cops thread, I thought you'd see this for what it is.
