I tagged in a video on FB that showed it just before dusk. It was in such a busy area and the worst time of day.
Off topic but I was reading today about the El nino- is it really going to fall apart this spring and switch towards a neutral cycle this spring and la nina next fall? Couple different random local channel websites were saying that. I'm guessing recent models must be pointing that way?
Most likely. Model guidance is hinting at that (some are more aggressive than others, but all at least get it to neutral if not La Nina). But I tend to think the models more aggressively trending towards La Nina have a better handle on things than the less aggressive ones. Historically, winters with a strong El Nino are immediately followed by a transition to La Nina by the following summer/fall. Over the past 40-ish years, this is how the stronger El Nino's evolved: Strong El Nino in 2015-2016 became a full La Nina by August 2016 Strong El Nino in 2009-2010 became a full La Nina by July 2010 Strong El Nino in 1997-1998 became a full La Nina by July 1998 Strong El Nino in 1992-1993 only fell off to neutral by fall 1993 Strong El Nino in 1987-1988 became a full La Nina by May 1988 Strong El Nino in 1982-1983 became a full La Nina by September 1983 None of them maintained El Nino, and 5 of the 6 had a quick transition to La Nina.
Good shit. I'm hoping we aren't going into a drought pattern but some of the years on that list are very wet. Really hoping this spring flips away from the warm and dry winter we've had so my job doesn't suck this summer
I checked out the tower cam in Dodge City at noon and it was impossible to see anything because of the snow, crazy that it was even worse 8 hours later, holy shit
Yea school canceled here in Jax too. St John's County has school but early release. I don't remember a non-hurricane weather day and I've been here 18 years. First year with a kid in school so maybe I just missed it. But yea this suit has to be pretty bad. Oh well off to work I go.
Yeah we’ve had all kinds of big branches down and thuds on the roof. Hoping I don’t have a hole or any leakage.
