Shōta started his opening statement “Hey Chicago what do you say cubs are going to win today” This guy rocks
And he gets two years. If he continues his downard trajectory, he's almost certainly made more by opting out.
BP top 101 prospects list is out and Cubs have 9 on the list. 20. PCA 21. Matt Shaw 27. Cade Horton 65. Owen Caissie 71. Michael Busch 80. Kevin Alcantara 84. Moises Ballesteros 91. James Triantos 94. Jordan Wicks
the top 5 of that list should be up at various times this year. I think they are to low on Horton. I probably go Horton Shaw Cassie PCA Busch
Close to what I'd say, but I think i'd go Horton Shaw PCA as 1-3 in pretty much any order. then a noticeable drop off #4 Alcantara
MLB.com top 100 16. PCA 26. Cade Horton 47. Owen Caissie 51. Michael Busch 54. Matt Shaw 65. Kevin Alcantara 73. James Triantos
“That’s the beauty of baseball,” Ricketts stated. “You don’t have to have the highest payroll or the biggest stars. If you’re playing well, anybody can beat anybody…. Asked what it would take to increase payroll — the Cubs are at around $200 million right now — Ricketts quipped “more revenue.” “We’re right there at CBT (Competitive Balance Tax) levels,” he said. “It’s kind of our natural place for us. That should be enough to win our division and be consistent every year.” Hey at least we signed *checks notes* David Peralta and Dom Smith Fuck the owners in this town
I've been pretty pro Ricketts even after everyone was shitting on the dude during Covid and the decision to tear down that WS team. But this is fucking terrible... Like Reinsdorf level terrible.
That deal makes sense for us. Can play both first and CF for us while we see what PCA and Busch can do but doesn’t lock him up long term to block them.
If they did that too, hopefully that would be an indication that they’re happy enough with Morels ability to play third.
This is the exact type of statement that will prevent me from doing anything to put money in his pocket Doubt he'll make the walk around the bleachers after saying this shit Theo had to know this was his plan
Counsel just said his line up construction means getting your best hitters the most at bats. He’s already a better coach than Ross
That wording is about best case scenario. Still feel like a couple week break is in store. This isn’t something they’ll fuck around with. Kinda hoping they bring up Ben brown for a spot start or two. Don’t want to deal with smyly in the rotation bullshit
I was pretty worried about Busch’s defense coming into this and nothing he’s done over there tonight has helped to quell that. Hope they get morel up to speed at third asap so they can DH Busch if needed
