Let's try to keep this thread just for book 3 discussion. GBG_24 if you want to start your own thread to discuss shit as you read it you can, just update the subject line with how far into what book you are so people know the scope of the discussion
Also, this is what I use to track where I'm at in the books since I'm reading them as a bundle on my nook. http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Chapters
Cool. If I feel like being a loser this weekend, I may end up finishing the book. It just depends on what my friends have going on. Also (not a book spoiler in spoiler): Spoiler :fuckyocouch: WBN . We'll talk about book four wherever we want!
Spoiler Fuck you GBG_24, I'm ready to get back into some COD. I will be fucking shit up this summer when I finally graduate
Question about the R&L theory for Jon Spoiler how does the whole dragon blood thing work? Viserys didnt have it but Daenerys does. It would seem that Jon doesn't because he burned his hand, but i can't remember if there was anything unusual about the burn. I know the books talk a lot about his hand after the fact, so i was wondering if I missed some small detail that would support this theory. Spoiler Also, are there any theories as to why Viserys didnt have dragon blood? I'm through book three and almost done with four. If it's mentioned in book 5 then don't worry about it.
Spoiler when a targaryen is born the gods flip a coin. one side greatness. one side madness I probably messed that up.
I haven't even thought about a re-read yet. went through all 5 books between tv seasons. I'm excited to see what I've missed, dreading some parts
I've debated re-reading the first three before going on to AFFC because I'm dreading it. I feel it's just going to be a chore to get to ADWD.
AFFC is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. it's just a bit of a reset after the chaos of ASOS.
My only problem with it is that one of the storylines is very uninteresting to me and every time I got to another one of that character's POV's in AFFC I wanted to slit my wrists.
IMO it was much better on the re-read than the first time through. I actually enjoyed the book more knowing what was happening to everyone else at the same time, having read ADWD. Maybe you should do what someone suggested in another thread and read AFFC and ADWD together using there method of alternative chapters chronologically.
He sent the letter and Ned's bones with a group back to Winterfell in Book 3, but I don't think anyone knows what happened to them.
Minor book 5 spoiler. I'd advise not reading unless you've finished it. Spoiler I've thought this as well and they have to be with the Reeds. I'm guessing Moat Cailin fell before the bones got there and were intercepted by the crannogmen, so the ironborn didn't get their hands on them. They never passed through the Barrowlands, just north of the Moat, because Lady Dustin said she was gonna feed Ned's bones to her dogs when she gets her hands on them. It's been way too long for them to not get there by then, so either someone raped and killed the silent sisters (which is pretty unlikely, even for GRRM), or the Reeds have them.
I wouldn't read this thread until you finish the book Corky and don't read what I post below. Spoiler Where Eagles Dare, a showfag in the Auburn thread posted that Rob dies in the latest episode of GoT as a joke. Little does he know...... Dude almost spoiled himself
Spoiler I didn't know whether to or at that post. The entire internet's worth of showfagdom is going to have a meltdown come the red wedding.
One of my favorite Fambuleh members too. Shame, why couldn't Faulkner have made that post? And Corks, you need to be a bookfag.
