Im bringing a bottle for my trade with Spaulding and a bottle to drink while we feast on pig. Consequences will never be the same. T-minus 7 hours (ish)
your losing sleep just thinking about how ugly Spaulding is going to be when you meet him....most reasonable post Ive ever seen on this thread....look for this:jew:
i just said looking forward to this bottle, didn't mean i was going to open it. i know the rules. edit: i will, however, be opening blackfin today
How was it? Saw a lot around here but didn't grab one. I am still sitting on the Mexican Cake Stout from the first anniversary last year though
Talking to people about "good" beer when they don't know what good beer really is, is just infuriating.
Welp the Fantasia was released yesterday and according to Upright's FB they sold it all within 30 minutes of opening. Was not able to get They were selling CASES to individual buyers for a 1 time a year, very limited edition beer. Who does that?
Threw down a sucks and a Hopslam last night. Both were excellent, but the transition to HS was awesome, for some reason.
In Total Wine just walking around seeing whats new and there's just one other guy looking around as well and he goes "you like IPA's?"....I told him I did then he grabs a 6 pack of O'Connor Norfolk Canyon Pale Ale and puts it in MY cart, winks at me and goes "Best IPA I've ever had" and walks away...just wanted to punch him right in the sack.
Pliny the Younger in two weeks (at least in the RR brewery.) Spoiler Santa Rosa will be getting a little Younger in just 2 weeks! Pliny the Younger will be tapped at our brewpub at 11am February 1st and will be available for 14 days until Valentine's Day! A certain amount will be allotted for each day so we can make it last the entire 2 weeks. Last year we mostly ran out late evenings or sometimes not at all. This just in: The Flamingo Hotel has graciously offered a special "Pliny the Younger" rate for our out of town visitors! How nice was that?! Check out the Brewpub section on our website for details about The Flamingo as well as other lodging recommendations. In regards to which accounts will be receiving Pliny the Younger, we have not set those allocations yet but will do so in the next week. We will have a list available at the pub during our 2 weeks of Younger. We are also sending a few kegs to our distributors on their regular February shipments. But at this time, we don't know who else is getting what and when (other than our pub!). I imagine most Bay Area accounts will likely tap their kegs during SF Beer Week which kicks off February 8th. Of course, we kindly ask all of our accounts to tap it in February so the beer is served at it's best! We look forward to seeing some of you in just a couple of weeks! Cheers!

I'll be in CA at the end of Feb somewhere in Newport/HB or close to there will have some at that time.
I've gotta admit, I have not once had an old ale. Would you guys say that they're near the barley wine family?
I can't imagine going to that thing - I'd get bombed immediately, then start bidding on everything. Still haven't had the oracle Was out running some errands and stopped by o'briens for their anniversary weekend. Nineteen Russian River beers on tap and I probably won't even have one (well...maybe a taster). Having a Societe special release 10/19 anniversary ale, and planning on an alpine 19/10 anniversary IPA next. The Societe beer is outstanding. Hope they start bottling soon, or I'm gonna have to get one of their expensive ass growlers.
Holy fuck. This alpine IPA is good. Super bitter, but it's not heavy. Their IPA's have completely changed what I thought about IPA's.
cdaysker Did they just release another round of it in Chicago or where did you get it? My cousin's uncle is out there and I can get him on a mission to find some if it is available again.
No I found it at a grocery store in Lincoln. Everywhere else I had looked was sold out, but the one I was at today has it on a really shitty and hidden display stand. I asked the spirits manager if they had any BCBS and he said they ran out but then he pointed me to their display of those beauties. I could probably get more if needed.
