I get to hear about how one set of fans is the worst from each individual sect. It's kind of funny really. They complain to me about other fans of other bands not knowing that I'm usually a fan of both bands involved in the conversations.
I think we were out of commission during ticket buying. How did everybody do? What does your summer tour schedule look like? This is what I have so far: July 31 - Phish, Lakewood, ATL - pit tickets Missing the 2nd night for friends wedding August 2 - Phish, Tuscaloosa Amp - pit tickets August 4 - Phish, Nashville, TN - on sale date 5/1 August 5 - Aquarium Rescue Unit, Ironcity, Bham
May- might try to get tickets for that panic show at the Wharf. June- WAKA July- Phish ATL August- Phish ATL part 2, T-Town pit
Got lawns for Lakewood since it'll be my girlfriend's first show(s). May upgrade to pits for Friday though. Pit for Tuscaloosa GA Magnaball
I guess this just makes me a fucking asshole, but other jambands (outside of the grateful dead), just make me want to listen to phish...
I might have to try finding some of you bammers for the pit action..although you can't go shitting on my beloved bands.
I dig Mikey-era Panic. There's no doubting Herring's ability but he just doesn't do much for me with them. And George...smh. Moe. used to bring it but I haven't seen them in a decade and Umphrey's is ok, but I'm not going out of my way to see them. Greensky kicks major ass though they aren't really a jamband. Tier 3 jambands and a lot of the stuff on JamOn is just unlistenable, though.
Most of the stuff I listen to now is more funk driven besides Dead and moe. Lettuce and bands like that are on my playlist a lot lately.
Can't swing Chicago and I figure this is the last Phish fest, so I'm doing it, work be damned. I really want to go to Nashville but Tuesday sucks. My sister in law helped design the amphitheater there.
Squirming Coil and Reba got me interested, but Freshman year of high school my buddy bought Hoist and we wore out Julius.
I have tix to Greensky and KW in Chicago. Thinking about selling my moe tix for that night and mixing it up
yeah, besides Phish I'm kinda out of the jamband game as well. More things tangential to jambands I suppose. Greensky, Infamous Stringdusters, Vulfpeck, Snarky Puppy, Budos Band, Sturgil Simpson, Dr. Dog, jazz, afro beat, funk, etc.
How about a list of songs you're still waiting on seeing live? moe.: Dr. Graffenburg (I will hear this song live if it kills me) Phish: Split Open and Melt (I got McGrupp but not SOAM. what the fuck is that?) Widespread: Bear Gone Fishin'
They don't come south much. Saw them in NOLA two nights last year which was a treat. Baton Rouge like a decade ago. Other than that I've had to go to the NE to see them. Went to snoedown two years ago their ski and music festival that was in VT that year. One of the best trips of my life.
We were in NOLA seeing widespread at the time and I had no idea moe was in town, I was pretty upset about that.
I'm big fan of his voice as well. I like how all three up front sing even though Al is not that great of a singer. Really gives them a unique show that they have songs where they all have vocal leads
Next weekend here is my concert list I'm going to. Thursday Night: Royal family ball(Soulive and lettuce) then late night show for worship my organ(Robert Walters and Marco Beveneto) Friday Night: Joe Russos Almost Dead then late night Voodo Dead(Bill K, KW and others) Saturday Night: Joe Russos Almost Dead again then late night New Mastersounds
I've couched toured them. They may be the best thing touring. Marco on the keys doing dead is a big treat
I may have been part of that horn tooting. For fans of the Dead, it's the best thing going right now, and that includes the bands with actual surviving members.
I own this sticker, because I remember buying it, but it's sitting sandwiched inbetween a book somewhere in my house and I don't know which one it is. Pisses me off. It's hard to see but in the middle of the "O" is the guys in a golden cartoon doodle.
This had to be the highlight of my last stint seeing Phish and it came on the first night of the run.
