Really liked it. Thought the characters had a lot of depth and the story was presented in an entertaining way.
Sure to be wrong prediction: Season 2 John is elected Sherriff or whatever office he was up for. That old detective that stirred up stuff is going to start looking into Danny's death and cause trouble. Also the lawyer dude from NYC that was banging the sister. Looks a lot like Tom Brady. Was bother in me the whole series that he reminded me of someone then it clicked the last ep
Loved the setting and characters for the most part. Thought it started much better than it finished though and what a horrible way to try to cover up a murder.
That and how they handled Danny were my main 2 beefs, still liked it though. Danny was a cool character before the writers turned him into a complete psycho.
Thought it was a great first season. Agree that Danny was a really great part of the show so I'm interested to see where they go in season 2. Definitely think John could become Sheriff and stuff from season 1 gets stirred up, as mentioned above.
It seemed like a 1 season type of show. Have no clue where they can go from here. Don't know what type of story they will have without Danny.
While Danny is dead, by no means will there not be a reappearance at some point. They haven't even begun to dig into what got him to where he was, other than the beating by his father.
dont want to read any of this thread yet, because ive finished only the first 5 episodes. But wow i like this show a lot. The way they setup each episode, show you bits and pieces, foreshadowing, history between the family. Back and forth, and then present. Love the way they show it. well thought out
just finished today, fantastic first season. Really enjoyed it. the amount of flashbacks they did, danny will be there a lot imo. They have many different scenarios they can go, excited to see it. sucks its gonna be a while before season 2 though
I predict meg and eric to have a huge falling out and meg comes home by about episode 2 of 2nd season
Just finished, really enjoyed it but like others have said, I don't know where you really go without Danny. Meg though...
Just finished and really liked it for the most part. One problem: I thought they turned Danny into an unredeemable prick at the flip of a switch. And all from listening to those tapes. There must be more to the story. Really going to miss Mendelsohn in the present storyline in S2.
What do u mean more to the story? I mean he was a prick pretty much the whole time be just kept it in. He hated his whole family from the first episode on
Another thing to keep in mind is Danny wanted to come home so he was on his best behavior when he first arrives. It takes a matter of days for him to revert back to the Danny that his siblings and father seem to know so well. He was always an unredeemable prick...it is just hidden from us in the first several episodes.
well we never know what his speech was going to be about to the whole family. Since we see Sally reading it later it will probably be in the 2nd season. But i tend to think since he showed up with some hot drunk girl that he was gonna make that speech personal and go after his dad
Actually, I think it was when he received the first check. I can't remember which was first - the check or finding out he couldn't stay.
One of my favorite Danny scenes was when he laid into his mom and blamed her for a lot. Can't remember which episode
I know it's not meant to be 100% realistic, but wouldn't the medical examiner be able to determine that Danny died days before all the calls/text were sent? Or does burning the body somehow make it more difficult to know the time of death? Really liked season 1. Danny was a great character, the scene with his dad where he tries to pay him off to leave and you think Danny is going to be upset about being asked to leave and is in fact upset about the amount of money his dad is offering was great. Like has been said I thought it was going to be a one season show, not sure how they will have the constant storyline within the present without Danny. It's going to have to go back to fallout from killing Danny. O well, either way I'll watch.
Yes, makes it harder to determine pretty much every thing and I agree one of the best scenes was the dad and Danny discussing him leaving
O'Bannon did seem worthless most of the time. I'd be curious to see if he comes back after running away
Just finished it and I loved it. For those worried about no Danny they set it up for plenty of flashbacks to keep in him involved for awhile
Liked it a lot. Great article from the producers on where the show will go. Seems like it may get better. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/bloodline-creators-season-2-allegiances-790964
Currently on episode 9. It's an alright show. I know we're supposed to know that Danny is a piece of shit liar, but he's a pretty obvious liar as far as the acting and all that is concerned. Anyone would recognize that he's telling lies.
Finished this last night, really liked it. Every time you felt bad for Danny and how he was treated, he did a 180 and you realized whey the other siblings treated him that way in the first place. Mendelsohn did a great job with that character. The looming question is was the person who saw John in Danny's apartment really Danny's son, or someone else?
It's ok. Weirdly enough I know a family in the keys that actually has more drama than this, go figure.
Ended up watching it all and finished today. Really liked it, but just seems like it would be better as a one season show. Worried about how far they reach on future storylines and bringing up shit in the past
I think there is a compelling story line out for at least one more season as they deal with the fall out of their actions. If they try to make it more than that central theme the show will go downhill.
I thought it was strange how the kids of stable parents didnt find their uncle's behavior in the least bit odd. the guy was clearly an unreliable wreck.
