CSN Philly's Andrew Kulp would be "mildly surprised" if Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks is not traded "before or during the draft." Kulp is just connecting dots, but he draws a very interesting picture. Even though Kendricks is entering the last year of his rookie deal, the Eagles have yet to approach him about an extension. They did extend DeMeco Ryans and traded for Kiko Alonso. Chip Kelly seems to be on a mission to rid his roster of players acquired by ex-GM Howie Roseman. Kendricks is a budding star, but Kelly has proven willing to part ways with star players at the drop of a hat. FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports the Eagles will sign free agent Tim Tebow on Monday.
Not like Tebow is going to start. I get a chuckle out of it because of how riled up people get about him.
This. He's gonna be 3rd string, and maybe Chip finds a couple packages to utilize his skill set (goal line QB?)
it's pretty rare to dress a third QB in the NFL. wasting an active spot on him would really annoy me.
dear god... NJ.com's Mark Eckel passes along a "rumor making its rounds in NFL personnel meetings" of the Eagles trading Sam Bradford to the Browns for the No. 19 overall pick in the draft. The Browns already offered No. 19 to the Rams for Bradford, prior to his trade to Philadelphia. St. Louis didn't accept because it wanted a quarterback, and wound up acquiring Nick Foles. The Browns are "still said to have interest" in Bradford. Per Eckel, the rumor has the Eagles then sending Nos. 19 and 20 -- plus Mychal Kendricks and Fletcher Cox -- to the Titans in exchange for No. 2 overall, where Philly would select Marcus Mariota. Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reported Friday that Bradford currently believes the Eagles may be planning to trade him.
there's another rumor saying we're getting Mariota AND Manziel. I can't wait till Thursday so this is all over.
A league source tells Profootballtalk.com the Eagles are doing "all they can" to move up for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota. The Eagles need to get from No. 2 to No. 20 overall. They have three picks in the top 85 and several young players available for trade, including DE Fletcher Cox, CB Brandon Boykin, and LB Mychal Kendricks. The Eagles are also believed to be willing to trade Sam Bradford. Considering how many valuable players they're open to flipping, Profootballtalk's Mike Florio believes the possibility of Philadelphia moving up for Mariota "doesn't seem all that unreasonable."
I'm all-in. I said I wouldn't get my hopes up but my hopes couldn't be higher. I will be extremely disappointed if they don't get this done and I'm not even gonna give a shit about the price if they do. I might as well start calling WIP today.
I will be at Chickie & Pete's tonight for the start of the draft (even though I hate the place), I expect it to look like the end of the 2008 World Series if the Eagles get Mariota.
Pete is a scumbag of the highest order. and they're money-grubbing assholes that just want turn over tables.
Pete has a history of fucking the underage girls on his staff and stealing tips from his servers. (the former is just a well-known rumor, but the latter is known from an $8M settlement after an unfair labor lawsuit).
If, for whatever reason, they don't move up who do you think we consider at 20? I'm thinking Damarious Randall from ASU, Nelson Agholor from USC, Byron Jones from UConn, Landon Collins from Bama, or Jake Fisher for the obvious Chip connection. Don't think Chip is going to mess with any guys that have character issues that could slip or be available (Gregory, Ray, Peters, DGB, etc.)
I just hope they go BPA. I keep seeing Byron Jones if Peters is off the board. that's a reach to me no matter how much help is needed in the secondary.
Well this would be way too much... SI's Peter King says the Eagles would likely have to give up two first-round picks plus "something significant" to get Oregon QB Marcus Mariota. Something significant would likely be stud DE Fletcher Cox (who would at least be a top-15 pick in this year's draft). And that would be at the shallow end of the scenarios. Philly Mag's Tim McManus says two first-rounders, a second-rounder, Cox, Mychal Kendricks and Vinny Curry couldn get the Eagles from No. 20 to No. 2. It would be a massive price for Chip Kelly to get his quarterback.
Chip did crazy shit at Oregon too. Suspended Lagarrette Blount for a whole season, booted an all conference QB, booted an all American corner, suspended Kiko Alonso for an entire season for a DUI... the guy is extreme but we learned to trust him. I really think he can assemble something special in the NFL if he has enough time, but that's a big if. Anyway, pulling for the iggles today. Hope they get Marcus.
If you have any more crazy Chip stories I would love to read/hear about them. Oh and http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/30/could-eagles-be-trying-to-get-to-no-1/
Bold prediction is that Tennessee is bluffing and will not take Mariota at 2 if they are stuck there and it will open the door for Chip to negotiate with another team in the top 5 or 6 to cut a deal.
Bears trying to move up to 2 now and dump Cutler. The amount they would need to give up would be staggering IMO. At least you are out of Bradfords deal in a year if you don't like him or his leg folds in half.
Welp. Either Chip is still working behind the scenes or we wait it out until 20. I am disappoint right now
Bears are out of the Cutler deal after this season... Rumored offer was 1.7 + 1st next year + Cutler + middle round pick(s)
Love it. Fuck Perriman. Kid will bust. Chip has been in love with Agholor. Think he'll be a really nice fit to play inside and they can kick Matthews outside
Hopefully target a kid like Eric Rowe in the 2nd. That'd be ideal. Also Pac12 so chip is already hard thinking about it
We definitely needed a faster option at WR so I am willing to give Chip the benefit of the doubt with the Agholor pick. He sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders from his interview with the eagles website and will be a hard worker. Being a good option in the return game is a plus with our emphasis on special teams. There is no way he will have less of an impact than last years 1st rounder, so......PROGRESS!
Agholor is a stud. Was really effective as a freshmen at USC under Kiffen when they had Marqise Lee too. Sark is a moron, otherwise he would have been a monster.
