Watching again the sand snakes huddle was Joe Montanaesk. Why are they even a story. Who gives a fuck about 3 sluts who can't act?
I thought it was a good episode. - I fucking love Bronn. I want him to be king somehow but I'm fully expecting GRM to kill him off, subsequently ripping out my heart. - Sand snakes have been a disappointment for me. - Thought Sansa was going to pull out a weapon or something there at the end. - Faceless man shit is a bit slow but I'm interested to see where it goes. - Tommen = Upham from Saving Private Ryan - I miss Oberyn.
Yeah, I was worried about that. Sansa wouldn't have lasted long had that happened. Think the sand snakes weapons were tipped with poison too. Looked too significant when bronn was cut.
If bronn dies from poison I'm going to lose it. The sand snakes are super disappointing. They don't deserve to be called oberon's daughters
I thought so too, especially after he was more Theon than Reek during the ceremony. Ever since Sansa's come back to Winterfell we've seen more Theon than Reek, I can see him doing something during the battle with Stannis.
Yep. I can totally see Stannis's forces getting beaten by the smaller Bolton defense force, and Theon doing something turn the tide in Stannis's direction.
I think some big characters are about to start dropping. Jorah is donezo with that grey scale shit. All sorts of people are going to die when stannis gets to winterfell. Bronn is probably donezo. And some shit is going to happen with cersei and this religious people. Shits going to be nuts in the coming weeks. Or maybe nothing happens at all
What is Littlefinger trying to do? Can the Knights of the Vale defeat Stannis's army/the Boltons, even if they're weak after their battle? And Cersei definitely asked for Sansa's head on a stick. I want to say he's dug himself into too deep a hole this time, but he always comes out of everything smelling like roses.
He's probably going to march up there and join whichever side is winning and then get them to help him take kings landing. Then murder some people so he can ultimately have the throne
Cersei is fucked. She just shat on the last alliance she had. Tyrells are gonna practically declare war. The Martells are doing everything in their power not to declare war. Boltons have pretty much told her suck our dick by marrying their heir to the girl she belives murdered her son. Her uncle told her he thinks she aint shit. Iron bank has already moved on. Stannis coming . She has alienated everyone that could possibly help her. Littlefinger is not stupid he does not side with the losing side so she can't really rely on him. One thing this series/show has proven time and time again is that if you fuck over the people supporting you then you will also get fucked. It happened with Robb Stark when he killed Karstark and reneged on his deal with Walder Frey. Happened to the mad king when he fucked over the starks/robert. If you let your emotions cloud your good judgement you will get got. This is why Tywin was a perfect leader he was smart and calculating but he didnt let his emotions control him (unless when it came to tyrion which is pretty much why he died). Cersei is letting her hate fuck everything up
I assumed that one of the sands snakes ran off with Princess Marcella and that their plan was a semi success with them at least kidnapping her. Was randomly re watching that fight scene and saw all three got caught and Princess Marcella is safe...stupid chicks
Thought it was interesting how the Sansa rape scene was more about Theon than her. She was basically a prop.
I will be honest. I did have half a hard on squeezed up in anticipation, because truly I hate that bitch. But then the quick pan to Theon and subsequent cries from Sansa that could just as easily be interpreted as pleasure instead of torment, frankly, just killed the mood.
I mean your general premise isn't really off, but a few things: 1. Robb killing Karstark wasn't his emotions clouding his judgement or him fucking over an ally. The dude murdered two children against Robb's direct orders. Robb had no choice and he made a logical, kingly decision. 2. Tywin was calculating, ruthless, and a genius of a military commander, but he was definitely prone to rash, emotional actions. For an example of this, just go ahead and listen to the Rains of Castamere. Or watch any scene where he interacted with Tyrion. Or his later interactions with Jaime. 3. Cersei is paranoid and batshit crazy, plus she's nowhere near as smart as she thinks she is. Those are bigger issues than hate clouding her judgement. Like I said, I don't think your overall argument is off in regards to emotional thinking and its consequences in the GOT world, but your examples weren't the best. Hopefully I didn't step out of line here as someone who's read the books. I typically avoid posting itt at all, but everything I talked about has been covered pretty clearly and extensively in the show.
This is something that I don't think the show portrays very well. At this point there's really only one person in King's Landing that she trusts.
I dont understand the high sparrow thing at all. How did they get this authority out of thin air? Did Tommen grant them this authority and we just didn't see it in the show? Just seems really thin. I also don't get what Bolton's plan is. Is he just retarded? He's about to get attacked by a massive Stannis army and his only allies are little finger (who he doesn't trust) and Cersei (who he just ruined that alliance with the sansa stuff). Its also a stretch to think Cersei would be retarded enough to tell Olenna to get fucked. Of all people she is going to trust little finger to back her up? How is she going to attack the victor of stannis/bolton without Olenna? I also don't really understand how Littlefinger got to this position. Someone wanna recap for me? Why does anyone in the Vale give a fuck about him now?
Pretty sure LF's climbed the ladder by arranging alliances with people and just getting "commission" First big move was getting the Tyrells to join the Lannisters at Blackwater and he got a castle for it Vale power he just married into
Cersei talks about it to the High Sparrow. Years ago they had an army of the faith, The Faith Militant. A Targaryen put an end to them, but now they're back and answer to the laws of the gods, like how they wouldn't let the King of the 7 kingdoms see the High Sparrow.
Just bc Cersei says so out of the blue? I just don't see how they can get away with throwing the Queen in jail. Why doesn't Olenna just have their heads chopped off and tell Cersei to get fucked?
So he marries into the vale situation but his wife dies. Are the knights of the vale going to go to battle for him just bc they used to be married?
He's 9 or 10. How many kids that age have even a hint of authority in them? When being surrounded by and talked down to by a bunch of adults in power positions, there isn't a kid in the world who would have the balls to stand up and do what needs to be done. Pretty realistic IYAM.
In the books King's Landing doesn't really have much except for the City Watch. The FM actually outnumbers them, but you're right, the shit that's going on doesn't make sense. He's really, really smart. On top of that he positioned himself well with the Tully's and he increased the Crown's income tenfold when he became Master of Coin.
I can't remember if this scene was in the show or not, so I'll spoiler just in case Spoiler Littlefinger had a meeting with the knights of the vale to plead his case as to why they should back him. I can't recall the specifics off the top of my head, but basically he won them over for a certain amount of time
So the knights of the vale are his source of power? Basically Im asking what his power structure is? If someone tells him to fuck off what is his recourse? Does he have any real way to defend himself or deter people from just cutting his throat? Or has he just fooled everyone into thinking so?
