Michael Porter is currently on his second unofficial to UVA Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein 33m33 minutes ago 2017 F Michael Porter is currently taking an unofficial visit to Virginia, source told @CBSSports. One of top players in junior class.
Diallo's issue is pretty much all to do with the high school he went to in NY. Its a basketball factory so a number of other players from that school are being held up. Ala Prime Prep in Texas. I hope he gets cleared as he won't be our best player but probably most important because the next best option at his position is a big drop off in talent.
Terrance Ferguson arriving in Tuscaloosa today and staying through the weekend on an unofficial. Bunch of crystal ball picks flowing for Bama with him. Obviously would be a monstrous pickup for Avery Johnson.
It's a great system strategically and is extremely hard to defend. Most just don't enjoy watching it and it isn't very fun to play in as guard or wing because it doesn't give near the freedom other systems do.
Looking back I am surprised beilein got so involved with leaf Thornton and battle. All three have psycho controlling dads.
I think he might as well shorten the list to KU, Duke, UVA, UW, Mizzou, UK, probably in that order. I dunno I'm just reading tea leaves on the order but I'd be surprised if he ends up anywhere other than those 6.
No clue. I don't pay for that stuff. Based on twitter - IU reached out to him, but people think UCLA leads. When a player decommits, it usually means they have another school in mind. The fact that there is so much momentum toward UCLA leads me to believe IU has no chance and any communication between IU and Leaf is lip service from Leaf.
yes, UCLA or IU seems to be the vibe, more so UCLA he cut his list to 8: California, Gonzaga, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, San Diego State, Texas and UCLA apparently a lot of the UCLA buzz is because he has 3 AAU teammates going there
Kansas dudes any of yall got access to Jayhawkslant? Wanting to know what this Terrance Ferguson update is about http://kansas.forums.rivals.com/threads/terrance-ferguson.16176/
can't imagine it does, with his level of talent and the lessened impact an ACL tear has on careers due to today's medicine...didn't Giles tear his ACL a while back too?
That the rumors that he was canceling his trip to KU and commit to Alabama was not true. He said he is going to visit KU - probably for Late Night.
He is a HEAVY NC State lean and everyone knows it. Not sure why you're acting like this isn't the case.
Supposedly a tough competitive defender and a strong athlete. Academics played a major role. Just needs to round out his offense. On a kid out of Philly? named Deandre Hunter. Another slightly under the radar type. Pure shooter who is a 6'7 sg.
Also visited UVA last weekend, he's definitely underrated right now. He'll be good and he's blowing up now. I agree with you and think he ends up at Nova.
Apparently he wants to be a 2G, as he thinks that is his best position at the NBA level. Has potential to be a first rounder.
I've heard that NC State is probably out front for him, but that it was far from a done deal. I mean you're acting like everyone has just conceeded his recruitment to Gottfried. That's not the case.
I dont think its that far from a done deal. Maybe things changed on Gottfrieds end given the knee dying, but doubtful. If Duke wanted to make a big push they could have had a shot but they want that kid out of Utah.
Report: Calipari confronted coach who accused him of cheating John Calipari has been an outstanding recruiter throughout his college coaching career, and the combination of Calipari and Kentucky is as powerful a tandem as there is on the recruiting trail. (Photo: USA TODAY Sports) One college coach apparently questioned Calipari's ability to close - even late in the process - and UK's head man confronted the coach and set him straight in a gym in Las Vegas, according to Geoff Calkins of The Commerical Appeal in Memphis. Calkins was on the Gary Parrish radio show and gave details of the story he said he heard from a handful of different sources. "John Calipari is the type of dude that can come in last minute and scoop somebody up," Calkins began. He cited Tyler Ulis as one example, then went into the story of Calipari snatching a player out of another coach's grasp. "I don't want to tell you who the coach was, but there was a coach once ... recently, last three years - prominent coach - who had been recruiting a kid hard. Every minute of the summer. Every game the kid was at. ... For like two years this coach had seen this kid every game he played in the summer. Recruited him hard. Thought he had it locked down. "John Calipari comes in - had not watched the kid one time, like, the previous summer. Came in late in this subsequent summer, saw the kid one time - one game. ... This one coach has been to 30 games this kid's played. Been recruiting him hard for about two years. John Calipari came to one game the kid played and been recruiting him hard for about two weeks. Kid committed to Kentucky. "The coach started yapping in basketball circles. 'They must have cheated. There's no way they could have got that. I've been on that kid for two years. Calipari barely knew his name, comes in and gets that done.' 100% true. "John confronts this guy, in Vegas, 'cause he heard the guys been yapping. He confronts him. ... I'm paraphrasing here, I'm not quoting John Calipari. I'm paraphrasing here what I was told John said, but I've been told by five different sources who witnessed it. "Cal approaches the coach and says, 'Hey listen, I know what you've been saying. I know you did. I know you said what you said. I've heard it from enough people, but I want you to understand one thing. Yes, I am the type of guy who can come in in the last minute and take any player I want from you. You can spend your whole life recruiting a kid, and at the end of the day if I want him, I'll get him. If we want him, we'll get him. Don't ever get that confused. Be appreciative every time I don't come in and get your guy. Don't accuse me of cheating when I do. ... Just understand, nothing stupid went on. It's just that I'm me, we're Kentucky, and we can come in and get that kid whenever we want." And the coach just walked away. My guess it was Cronin/Teague
That was news in November 2010 when Parrish talked about it on his radio show, not sure why it's getting rehashed by Parrish now. From KSR on Nov 11, 2010 With recruiting on everyone’s mind, I think it is worth noting the story told by Gary Parrish on Calipari yesterday on the radio show. Parrish noted that Calipari will let people know when he has problems with others and he liked the fact that he is up front. He told a story about a confrontation Calipari had with Cincinnati Coach Mick Cronin after he heard Cronin had told some associates that he didnt understand how he could go to every game for a kid and then Calipari could come in at the last minute and take him (presumably Marquis Teague). Calipari heard the comment, went to Cronin and basically said “you have to go see all the kid’s games…I can sit back and decide which kid I want and come and get them.” Parrish loved the story and it can be heard on yesterday’s radio show below.
In 2010 Parrish said on radio it was Cronin and if so the player had to be Teague. Not since K increased payroll anyway.
Teki Gill-Ceasar visiting Oregon. I guess he was the" player to be named later" in the Jabari Brown deal.
Yeah he's the best #1 overall in the last 5 years. Fucking kills me that he's lost to UNC over this ncaa mess.
