OSU is wearing black uniforms against Penn State this year. We haven't seen the official jerseys yet, but our WR Corch just sent out a picture of black matte OSU helmets. I think we were all expecting to keep the silver helmets, but I'm not against black matte.
when we hired Mason everyone was all stoked because his defenses at Stanford were really good and they got after the QB a great deal. At his first few press conferences he kept talking about how our defense was going to take opponents into deep dark waters because that is where sharks like to prey. Turns out he hired Stanford's inside linebackers coach to be our DC and we got absolutely no pressure on the QB until the last game of the year when Mason assumed defensive playcalling duties and we did actually see some of the pressure he brought at Stanford here is a quote from him on the topic, I really can't wait for winter to get here "If you've ever seen any movies, like Titanic, where ships are out on deep oceans and deep seas — it's a scary place to be," Mason said. "And that's where we want to take teams. To deep water. We want to live in that place. We feel like this football team has a bunch of sharks on offense, defense and special teams. This reminds me of Bob Diaco calling our 2012 defense a bunch of werewolves. The same Bob Diaco has since predicted a National Chamoipnship for his UConn football team, as well as created a rivalry (and corresponding rivalry trophy) with a school that had zero input prior...and has actually denied the existence of the rivalry since.
it sounds stupid on its own combine it with the fact we had four football players booted from school for raping a girl and we probably shouldn't attempt to build an entire brand identity around the whole predator notion
I thought the deep water stuff was based off the commodore thing. Basing it around a cliche is even dumber.
Jersey is ok. Pants are bad. Helmet is ok. Ill be really glad when Adidas moves on from this Glad Force Flex trash bag pattern in all their jerseys.
