Oh man if we start 3-0 with this team We just suck less than everyone else. Kinda like when the SEC E play each other
I am one of those fans that really suck for Atlanta. I go to games and wear Falcons gear, but will be in the done wearing my racist colors that Sunday day
tbh Ive got no problem with it wish you'd convert, but nothing can be done on our end. Just support your city when there are no other conflicts. The worst are the transplants that root for their team and actively root against the Atlanta teams (like the Philly guy on here). My gf is a Steelers fan and its only been an issue 1 day.
I don't think anyone knows yet, but I saw some random tweet that the team doesn't think it's anything too serious.
That's why I don't love the idea of trufant staying on his side of the field. I would prefer he shadow the best receiver. Make the Reuben randles of the world beat us
I want to know how Seattle doesnt get exposed for this more often tbh, I thought Alford was a lot more competent that he was yesterday. I get that it was OBJ but he didnt put up much of a fight.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Updated: Falcons RB Tevin Coleman fractured a rib and is expected to miss a couple of weeks, depending on his pain threshold, per sources.
Gahhhhhhh. Not trying to knock the guy, but does he have osteoporosis? No one fell on him in that tackle iirc.
OBJ also was just playing really well that 1st half Trufant is already in the discussion for best corner in the league. We have a really good shot at 3-0 and it feels pretty fucking good
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Sources: #Saints believe QB Drew Brees has a shoulder injury that will likely cause him to miss games, potentially several games.
What? We have the 9th best run defense currently. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/rushing/position/defense
Hah, yeah if the defense has notably improved anywhere it's definitely been in run defense. It has been nothing short of impressive two games into the season, even if the teams we've played aren't "good."
ESPN Insider: Falcons the favorite in the NFC South 4m Email Comment Vaughn McClure, ESPN Staff Writer The Atlanta Falcons obviously have had an impressive start to the season with wins against the Philadelphia Eaglesand New York Giants. According to ESPN Stats & Information, 43 percent of teams that have gotten off to 2-0 starts since 1990 have gone on to make the playoffs. But according to the ESPN's Football Power Index, the Falcons have a 75 percent chance of making the playoffs based on the 2-0 start, which is in front of undefeated teams such as the Carolina Panthers (66 percent), the Cincinnati Bengals (65 percent) and this week's opponent, the Dallas Cowboys (61 percent). ESPN Insider Mike Sando took things a step further in declaring the Falcons the NFC South favorite in his latest insider piece. It's a tremendous breakdown that incorporates the fast start, the Pro Football Focus Rankings, The Football Power Index, and the injury factor (Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints). Here's an interesting quote Sando gathered from an unnamed defensive coach who broke down the Falcons' defense on film: "It's a long season, and two games is no enough to draw conclusions, but I really like what they are doing. All the fundamentals are installed. They have the big guys running and the little guys hitting. They have great body posture, which allows for explosive changes of director in the underneath coverage, which should limit YAC (yards after the catch). They have a four-man rush and know how to rush. Combine low YAC with violent tackling and tons of jerseys to the ball, it looks good." So, are the Falcons truly playoff bound as the class of the NFC South? Like the coach above said, it's too early to tell. But Dan Quinn definitely has elevated the level of a play for a team that missed the postseason the previous two seasons. The Falcons can't take the Cowboys lightly this weekend because of their strong defense and tough offensive line. However, 3-0 should be within reach with Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, and probably Jason Witten out of the Dallas lineup. Then looking ahead to Week 4, the Falcons catch the Houston Texans in the midst of a quarterback switch from Brian Hoyer to Ryan Mallett, so Houston is still trying to find its footing. But contending with J.J. Wattwon't be easy, plus the Texans could get top running back Arian Foster back from groin surgery. Yes, the Washington Redskins are on the schedule in Week 5, but the Week 6 Thursday night matchup against the Saints on the road should be the game that reveals a lot about the Falcons. The rivalry game always has a chance to go either way, no matter the records. And Brees' status coming off a bruised rotator cuff could be a huge factor in the game, even if he plays. The Saints have won three of the last four meetings between the teams in New Orleans, but the Falcons took last year's matchup, 30-14.
Brooks Reed looks like he could be back next week. Upgrade the already decent pass rush. For some reason theyre going to rush Tevin back. Dumb to make that injury worse when resting him thru next Sunday will allow the rib to heal almost completely. Idk whats up with Devin Hester. I get turf toe is a hard injury to deal with. But this seems like its an injury he either needs to play through the pain or he is going to be out all season. His loss is pretty big as we havent had a long return with Weems yet. Plus, as a 4th receiver in the slot he'd be getting tons of space.
Yeah turftoe is a very nagging injury. Aren't rib injuries something that are usually hard to make worse, that is Coleman would only experience more pain but not necessarily damage the fracture any more?
if you don't think he will be in severe pain from a broken rib then you've never had one there are a multitude of issues that arise from playing with a broken rib, even if its not displaced.
Never had one, but it seemed like the general consensus was that he could be ready to go soon if he's willing to play through the pain. If he's already trying to return then the risk of hurting himself further is likely very low, I don't think he would be cleared to play otherwise.
