Pretty sure Liverpool has someone locked in for the winter window already. Also saw Watford getting Iturbe from Roma. We're less than two weeks from the window. Seasons flying and Euros for the summer. Good times.
I feel like I should be more excited for Copa since US is in it but while I'm happy about it being on I still care much more about watching Euros
Yeah with you. Euros are vastly superior in my book. I think it's just familiarity for me with the players.
Yeah it makes sense for most I've just typically been someone who cares far more about where my teams are playing and less about what is the best so it was new and odd to me that I care more about Euros even though it's clearly the better competition
The one where the guy had a bad touch and it hit his arm a bit? That wasn't a penalty, the commentator was being a dumbass saying it should have been. This one was a big missed call, arguably could have been red too.
That was fuckin hilarious, but really the little fagboi that was trying to get the ball from him should have received a yellow as well. I hate whine face.
Eh. Like I said the first one is whatever I'm not arguing that one much. That second one was tough because I think without that ball hitting his arm was going in.
Yeah the 2nd was a stone cold pen and possibly a red like Gunny said. They should have a ref behind the goal like in big tournaments IMO, he would have def spotted that. Not like they can't afford it.
You guys have the quality on your roster to see it out, I doubt you'll be worrying much come April. Maybe even March.
Gonna be interesting to see who spends in January. We obviously should but you know Arsene, Leicester could use some depth, and pretty much every team in the bottom half should spend to make sure they don't get relegated. City will probably buy a 40 million pound attacker they don't need.
Our fans seemed convinced we need to do that. Bony has really been the only incoming transfer the last few January windows so I'm not expecting to see anything.
Bafé preferred hanging out offside and Ayew loves drifting out of position. The back 7 really didn't know how to play with the front 3 any more. The offensive chances were all dependent on Shelvey long balls timing runs from those other guys. The link up play has improved quite a bit the past few weeks, but the results haven't. The coaches seem to want to lean toward more of a diamond formation instead of the traditional 4-2-3-1 and I think that takes Montero out of play.
Need that width which Jefferson provided. You guys beat us twice last year and feel like 98% of that was because of Montero.
Both of those winning goals came with Montero and Barrow providing that width. I'm all for it, but it leaves Ayew out unless you have him replace Gylfi (I don't think he's a big enough target to replace Bafé)
I'll defer to the Swansea fan but Gylfi has looked pretty shitty to me recently. If he's not providing end product, he's pretty useless.
He's been much more engaged these past couple weeks. That unfortunately hasn't resulted in goals, but that's on a lot of people. I would be all for trying Ayew at that spot, but I haven't been named manager. Yet.
I like Barrow but he isn't ready for extended premier league minutes. I'm not sure how I'd line them up but Gylfi, Ayew, Montero, Shelvey should be in our line up more often than not when it comes to goal scorers and the ability to set up.
What are the injury situations looking like for today? I read somewhere online that Sanchez may have an outside chance of at least making the bench for this afternoon but that could be horseshit. Need to get a feel for the probable starting XI's before unleashing Ace's Assessment.
A lucky lad cashed in for 40k pounds on a 20 pence bet after hitting the first 6 of a 7 bet parlay. He decided to take the money and not chance the 7th result for a higher payout, which was a wise decision as he would have lost it all. Who says parlays are for suckers? The lucky punter, in his 30s who wishes to remain anonymous, decided to cash out ahead of the last game of his 7-fold accumulator, Newcastle v Aston Villa, on Saturday – a great decision having wrongly predicted a Villa win at 16/5. Chelsea’s first match without Jose Mourinho got his 7-fold up and running as they rattled in three goals inside 50 minutes and then two more of our London sides helped deliver the goods. Dele Alli puts Spurs 2-0 and the score remained that way and then Palace substitute Lee Chung-yong earned Palace a 2-1 away win. With Norwich, Bournemouth and Leicester all earning away wins the punter could cash out and celebrate the festive period £40,000 riche from what was essentially a losing 20p bet! BetVictor spokesperson Charlie McCann said:” The lucky punter certainly had Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs shot to pieces successfully predicting Palace to win 2-1 at Stoke, Norwich to win at Man United, Bournemouth to win 2-1 at West Brom, Leicester to win & Both Teams To Score at Goodison, Spurs to win 2-0 at St Mary’s, and over 2.5 goals in the Chelsea vs. Sunderland game. Those selections were brilliant, but the decision to cash out our offer of nearly £40k ahead of Villa’s trip to St James’s Park was inspired, as the Midlands club never looked like taking all three points against Newcastle. What a Christmas present; £40,000 from a 20p losing bet!” The £40k winning/losing bet was: BP 0.20 7 fold: ASTON VILLA @ 16/5 [Match Betting - 90 Mins] - CRYSTAL PALACE 2 - 1 @ 12/1 [Correct Score - 90 Mins] NORWICH CITY @ 15/2 [Match Betting - 90 Mins] BOURNEMOUTH 2 - 1 @ 12/1 [Correct Score - 90 Mins] LEICESTER CITY @ 9/2 [Match Result and Both Teams to Score - 90 Mins] TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 2 - 0 @ 15/1 [Correct Score - 90 Mins] OVER 2.5 @ 20/23 [Total Goals - Over/Under 2.5 - 90 Mins] Read more at: http://www.london24.com/sport/footb..._20p_into_40_000_for_a_lucky_punter_1_4355415 Copyright © LONDON24
Not sure about Alexis, can't see him starting even if he does make the game. We're pretty much the same as we've been all of December, worried about the gaps in our midfield we've had recently.
