not thinking we lose - but it's always been a close game in bburg. plus seth allen really doesn't like us
Yeah it honestly seems like our basketball team, and probably Tony included, doesn't get up for VTech as much as the fans would like.
My thoughts as well. Only saw OT on Saturday but don't think we played all that well. Not sure if I am going to go to the game tonight or not, if my buddy doesn't ask me to go then I likely won't since it's so late.
Good win Tech guys. Growing up in SW Virginia, it literally makes me sick to my stomach to lose to you guys. Hope one day UVA will take this rivalry as seriously as y'all do.
hard to take a rivalry seriously when you win 80+% of the time. See: the football rivalry. we were due to sneak a win out, same as you guys in football. doesn't mean the dynamic has changed(altho these are 2 really good wins for Buzz in year 2).
We lost because we turned the ball over like crazy and couldnt play a lick of defense inside, not because we got screwed by the refs. But:
I knew we were really in trouble when London hit like 7 3s and you guys were right there with us. Very impressive.
I missed the last 10 min of the game, but assumed this would be the time we didn't pull it out after playing like ass all game.
I can already tell 2J is going to be my favorite coach. He's some kind of blend of a meathead dork who is somehow both goofy looking and very intimidating looking. It's hilarious.
two straight losses to awful teams is a little troubling...GT isn't that bad I suppose, but rebounding to the most embarrassing possible of losses by playing like dogshit in the next game is really disappointing
All about March, as we've said all along. Just gotta get through it. Everything is fine fire dog dot jpg
Hey alls, the basketball team is in shambles right now do you have any more pictures of our football coaches looking like middle schoolers on a field trip to cheer me up? Sure do.
I was really unimpressed with Miami. I like Larranaga but there was so much chirping, bitching, and the goddamn snap-the-head-back at contact thing. fuck miami
Our NCSOS is looking more and more ridiculous. Really wish we had one of the Techs. Road games are gonna be rough all year.
Thought this was interesting from the Sabre. Pretty much the same way I feel: "Remember when feeling fantastic after beating the #8 ranked team ... would have been the order of the day around here - rather than the "ok, that's good - still need to fix [whatever]" vibe we have here today. I'm not calling anyone out (because I pretty much feel the same way) - I'm just marveling in how far we've come in Bennett era." "After ACC championship, I said it would never be as "fun" again... I said it to my friends at the end of 2014 season that this will most likely be the most joyful season barring an NCAA championship. I totally expect the team will continue to excel under Bennett but there is nothing like the feeling of success after years of hardship. The team might be able to replicate it or come close some years but it is hard for the fanbase to have the same joy and exuberance as that first breakout year. I live in the MA now and although I don't like the Patriots, I marveled at the enthusiasm and excitement over their first Superbowl win. People were naming their kids Brady. Now....fans still love their team but they are more upset by losses than wins. Unfortunate side of success. Agree with your point - good time to take a step back and appreciate how far the program has come." -------------------------------- Definitely not complaining about success but it is pretty amazing how quickly it has shifted. If, indeed, Bennett coaches us until he retires I have no doubt we'll win a national championship. But being surprised by success is something we won't be able to replicate in the future.
I would have way more fun if I didn't know the tourney committee is gonna put us in a bracket with Michigan state again.
I might not watch. I turned off the second half of the FSU game because I could see where it was going. It just legit ruins my day to watch this team right now. Somehow reading about it on twitter and watching gamecast is much easier, but we do so many boneheaded things it just infuriates me. I have confidence in the team at home but we really are lost right now. Funny that we all said before the season that its all about the postseason. The team is testing that patience. We can take comfort in knowing we can play with (and beat) anyone, and have plenty of time to figure it out. But at a certain point we have to stop dropping games we should win. I really believe this is Tony's toughest coaching job since he came here because the expectations are finally higher.
