Not much to add, stayed @ Lucy's branch marina awhile back, thought Rosa's was good in Decatur, had a weird fun night @ Jimmy's, not a lot of free time.
I honestly forgot Westminster even existed. I don't even think I've heard that name mentioned in ~10 years. The last time may have actually been when we beat them in a scrimmage basketball game by like 70 points. And truthfully, I have no idea what the score was. I'm just saying 70 because that's how shitty that school was so I'm just imagining it was a total, embarrassing blowout. I would hate my life if my parents made me go there.
Pffffttttt I just pulled this from the Westminster booster club website. It was the first thing listed. Items purchased in the 2013-2014 school season include: DVD-VCR Recorder
They were runner up in the state in 4A basketball this year. Ronnie Stapler is the coach. Got them playing some good ball now.
That's cool. They were in the state finals this year in b ball. My nephew also was on the team. He enjoyed going there but I can't imagine my kids going there either. They will probably be grissom bound if we continue to stay on the Southside.
If you could please take your statistics and leave that would be great. We're all now making fun of Nemesis05 's family members. We don't have time for your facts.
How many kids even go there? I have no idea. I can only think of one person I've ever met that went there.
Not sure. Their class was only graduating like 60 something. My niece goes there now and will be hooping for the girls squad.
Wow that's way more than I thought. I was thinking like 20 kids per grade or something, but like 20 homeschool-esque kids who all go to the same school. Anyone know how many kids Catholic High has?
Westminster moving to the new campus has really helped their enrollment. It's bigger than Madison Academy now.
I haven't been by MA in a while. Do you know if that area is open on old Madison pike now? That detour sucked ass.
The bridge area by Madison Academy isnt open yet. Should be soon, though. My brother goes there. I think he has like 90 in his class.
I went to WCA for a semester when we first moved to Huntsville and I had like 25 people in my class. All of them were weird as shit, most had parents volunteering/teaching and the rest were there for getting in trouble at their public schools. Their sports were hilariously bad. Catholic High seemed better when j was in school
I can't hear as much since I changed jobs. On University now, so I can't hear it often unless it's a huge one.
Missed this somehow. Didn't we play them on the way to Spring Training? I pitched that game. We 10-runned them and then Steve made us run sprints after the game. Good times.
Yep. On the way to FL and didn't get to shower between sprints and the bus ride to Orlando. Forgot you pitched - knuckler must've been extra wonky that day.
It was. I remember the umpire throwing knuckle balls back to me when we had to get a new ball. Can't believe we got to go on that trip. We went to baseball games and amusement parks. Shit was awesome. Edit - Forgot about not showering before the 14 hour ride to Orlando. That bus must've smelled like shit. Haha.
Any of you been following this? http://www.al.com/news/huntsville/index.ssf/2015/07/officer_turns_on_fellow_office.html#incart_river
No way. I've heard that goes all way up to the top. Something like Dorning's brother used to live with that guy and they had a big falling out before all this happened. If I'm remembering correctly.
Saw that the hpd that beat up the guy in handcuffs was charged the other day. Crazy that the police chief tried to fire him and the hpd guy that threw the girl on the ground and city council overruled him both times.
You guys seen this shit? http://www.waff.com/story/29718018/...es-restraining-order-filed-days-before-deaths
I was reading something online about the Sunday brunch at west end grill, off research and old Madison pike (bridge street exit) in the shopping center with Venice pizza and el coyote. Clientele is super shitty but damn the shrimp and grits were on point!
John Petty still finds himself near the top of the basketball recruiting world. The J.O. Johnson junior maintained a No. 5 spot in the latest ESPN 60 Class of 2017 rankings, which were released Wednesday. Petty was also rated fifth in June. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard helped lead the Jaguars to a Class 5A state championship last season and was named 5A Player of the Year. He averaged 17.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals, and finished third in Mr. Basketball voting. http://highschoolsports.al.com/news...spn-basketball-recruit-rankings/#incart_river Go see Petty play if you get a chance.
My girlfriend's parents go to the big annual Huntsville tournament every year just for the sake of watching basketball, and I tagged along last year to watch a game. It just happened to be Petty's team playing, and I was in for a treat. He was the best player on the floor by far as a sophomore. He's the real deal and best I remember he seemed a lot more polished than what you would expect out of a sophomore with that kind of talent.
