18 was the kid that got trucked by both AF and Viska. Probably not going to like watching film this week.
So first of all the weather could not have been much better for this past weekend. Coming from Charleston I left rain and a bad cold front coming through, so it was odd to be in Colorado and have temps in the 70’s while home was getting hit with 30/50 degree temps. Arrived in boulder around noon on Friday. Easy flight and drive in. We loved how accessible the campus was. Showed up to a tour of all the facilities and stadium. Saw a few recruits, more on that later. After seeing the practice field, workout/training/recovery areas we went up to the 4th floor and met most of the staff. The vibe was not what I expected, everyone was very laid back and went out of their way to talk to us. Went by Mel’s office but he was busy in the conference room. Went up to the 6th floor and checked out the terrace and views of the stadium. Pretty solid to say the least. Our friend then took us to the sink which he described as very boulder. Ordered a beer that I actually had to send back. I’ve never done that before but it was flat and awful tasting. Keep in mind I had been traveling all day and hot piss would have probably tasted great, but everyone agreed something was wrong with the beer. My replacement and burger were great though. Went out to dinner that night and hit up pearl street. Tried one of the local coffee spots the next morning and then headed out to find ralfie before the game. Could not find her so we decided to go in the game about 45 mins early to make sure we were squared away before she ran out. I really liked how the stadium concessions were done. Much more efficient than how Clemson does it. Got back to the seats eagerly awaiting ralfie. Kept waiting. The fake mascot lead the team out. No ralfie. Multiple god dammits once we found out she wasn’t going to be making an appearance. Worst part of the trip by far, we were all eagerly anticipating her showing. Solid crowd, seems like people continued to file in until halfway through the first quarter. Stayed in our seats for the whole first quarter and then headed up to the 4th floor coaches area. Tons of kids just running wild through the coaches offices. There were tons of beverages set up as well as a buffet to graze on. Watched the rest of the game on the balcony there and got to peak at the LSU bama game occasionally. Great ending, coaches seemed terrified of a Montez turnover in the second half. Can’t remeber exactly but we were told he’s got a sprained or torn mcl I think. They had 4 trick plays called at various points but Stanford showed a look each time that made them check out of the call. As for recruiting, forgive me because we didn’t talk about it much but they like their position on a qb that’s down to Colorado, LSU and South Carolina. S.C. is not a factor. 2021 kid, I can’t remeber the name. I think there is one or two 2020 cbs they feel great about. Sorry for the shitty intel. My friend is really optimistic about what they can accomplish. Definitely need a little more commitment from the admin. He gets nickel and dimed for his meals, which he says never happened at any of his other p5 stops. Mel did convince the ad to pony up 50k for a sports psychologist which they really like. Will try to think of more later. Thanks.
hopefully your buddy stays put another year and you can see Ralphie run next season. In the last 15 years she hasn’t run maybe 5-8 times. 2 just have happened in the last 2 home games.
Mel recruits like Mac should have after The Rise. Sounds like Gonzalez anytime now. Berry in 11 days on his Mom's birthday. Harris still thinking about visiting Indiana?
remember her debut at the spring game in 2007 or 2008 when she almost got loose. She earned her retirement. 2008.
