I don't understand Valdes not just jumping on Solorio, especially when he backs himself onto the ropes.
That's a wasted opportunity for Valdes. You get a TV fight 5 fights into your career and that's your effort? Terrible.
He is, which led me to try and figure out why he's announcing this fight when he normally does HBO. Maybe he's done these fights in the past and I'm a tad tipsy? B-hop >>>>>Roy Not familiar with that
The old Gillette Friday Night Fights ran in the 50s and 60s. Then there was a reboot in the mid 90s that I think was on USA. Maybe not.
USA had Tuesday Night Fights back in the day. ESPN rebooted Friday Night Fights in the 90s and it was pretty damn good at first. Had Kellerman and Brian Kenny and some legit fighters. Eventually it got watered down.
Marriaga's got a good chin, some punching power and comes to fight. With that said, he's outclassed by Lomachenko by leaps and bounds (as nearly everyone is), so he's basically your cliche "punchers chance" guy.
Tonight: ESPN, 10:00 pm ET, Vasyl Lomachenko vs Miguel Marriaga, Ray Beltran vs Bryan Vasquez. Certainly not the best opponent you could have hoped for against Lomachenko, and chances are he’s going to rout and likely stop Marriaga, whether he does it with clean precision or just beating Marriaga into frustrated submission. Beltran-Vasquez is a solid matchup in the co-feature.
Beltran's fighting for a green card tonight, applying after the fight. Talk about pressure. https://sports.yahoo.com/ray-beltra...y-195542678.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw
