"Let me reward your honesty with some of my own. I honestly never want to see you here again. You're fired" *I realize this isn't 100% accurate but close enough
"Is this ironic? Feels ironic." Not my favorite character but I love baghead and I'm glad he's back in the incubator.
I do disagree with the writers that are saying they have to keep struggling/failing because people won't like them if they are worth billions. I would love to see Dinesh become a less likeable Russ Hanneman.
I think a lot of people would enjoy seeing them do something "normal" or "reasonable". I am not a huge fan of cringe worthy failures and at some point you expect them to come to their senses or someone show them the way.
The show should end with them all being completely unlikeable rich douche bags 15 years in the future.
so icymi Middleditch and Patrick Stewart have become pals (see any latenight TV interview for background) and variety staged an interview between the two. He gets Sir Patrick Stewart to play Mary, Fuck, Kill
I bought one for all of my friends as Xmas gifts last year. For as simple as it is, the ball is ridiculously entertaining.
I could see that being the case, the journey to success is far more interesting than maintaining. many shows plateau when characters "make it", House of Cards was best when Frank was chasing and not maintaining power. Entourage was more fun when the guys were trying to make it, once Vince hit it the only way to go was down (and that was a disaster - both in writing and viewing)
I still think it'll be funny watching Erlich being rich and Bighead falling for schemes when he's a billionaire.
Entourage's failure wasn't them succeeding, they were already succeeding when the show started. its failure was thinking they had to give every character their own independent story arc.
Would be interesting to see more of the guys awkward social lives being the disasters (as they get richer) as opposed to professionally. Also more Tara (Milana Vayntrub)
then they reached new levels of success in going from hoping for an indie hit to Aquaman. I felt the show went downhill when Vince became a coke head with the Giant Bush, the porn star trying to make it as a legit actress. back to SV, your point is exactly why I do not want to see any of the supporting characters wind up with a lot more screen time as they are perfect as role players and rarely can carry their own show.
More Billy More Ari Vinny slay random whores and not get weird/terrible girlfriends Turtle be a fucking driver instead of a tequila millionaire /success
If have to think long and hard about a popular show I hated more than entourage (especially by the end of its run)*. Seeing "turtle" and "tequila" in the same sentence *think Dexter is up there as well
So where do we go from here on this show? Hooli has the box? And did Gavin buy the tech blog? I admittedly was not paying that close attention PP is back in the house and back to basics. I do hope we haven't seen the last of Laurie. After a rough start where they weren't sure how to use her/differentiate from Peter Gregory, she's really blossomed. I'm obviously upset with the decision/thinking behind these guys not being able to succeed, but I have hopes for next year.
The woman that Gavin fired told the blog woman about the dead elephant and she used that to blackmail Gavin into buying the blog, for $2 million iirc.
Yeah. 2M for the blog, I think. 1M and $1 for PP. Interested to see how quickly they run out of money (to hilarious effects!!) next season
Josh Brener (big head) just had a shout out on Maron on IFC. Maron said he got a text from his old assistant (which Brener played) saying "got a job on a show on HBO can't talk right now"
Was watching a documentary about Napster last night and a lot of Silicon Valley elements seem to be inspired from their story. Prob common knowledge to many but hadn't realized it
were you able to choose colors? anything on amazon said colors would vary. I ended up with all magenta/blue aside from a navy/green one. I did my best to not let the others know someone didnt get pink.
They run with the chat app and go h2h with hooli chat and put the billion dollar compression algorithm on hold? I don't know anything about the actual SV but I would imagine there's tons of inside jokes and situations that pay homage to real life tech companies/start ups that are now huge corporations.
Yeah pretty obvious. Maybe there will be some major bug in the VC app that crashes devices and they can't find it? Something bad has to happen according to the writers
I just don't see why we can't see a somewhat natural progression of a company. I kind of liked it when they moved into the big fancy offices halfway through last season. It felt like a little forward progress. There's still plenty that can go wrong from that point. They don't have to immediately be Hooli, but they've been stuck in Erlich's house for 3 years now. We need at least a little forward momentum.
Iirc they mention at some point in season 3 it had been about a year since the either the beginning or tech crunch disrupt. Cant remember. Im sure this is very helpful. But the point is they do actually address it.
Even if they're not billionaires, it'd be cool to see them come into at least some money at some point in the next season or two. That could make for some hilarious plot lines with the kind of stupid shit I could see Erlich, Gilfoyle, and Dinesh buying.
there's lots of good shit on his instagram lol https://www.instagram.com/p/BIRZkpPh9co/?taken-by=tombini https://www.instagram.com/p/BIFznGXg1h0/?taken-by=tombini https://www.instagram.com/p/BHadA60haKz/?taken-by=tombini
