Jesus, MARTA has completely suspended all their services tomorrow and our fucking daycare center only posted on their facebook page that they won't be open. How bad is it really going to be in Atlanta? Maybe some trees being knocked over a little bit of flooding?

 

here in Tallahassee wind has just started to pick up around 20ish with some bigger gust and can hear a transformer starting to blow.

 

Schools in upstate SC are cancelling for tomorrow too.

 

That makes even less sense with the way that this was shown to be tracking west the past couple of days.

 

Just checked on the horses. They couldn't give less of a fuck. The barn itself is surprisingly quiet inside despite some strong gusts. They should be fine.

 

Just downloaded DarkSky. If you're serious about radar, it's not good. Forecast seems ok compared to other apps. Still no human input, which seems to be built into their mission statement anyway.

Time to stiffen the penalties for looting non-life preserving goods during a natural disaster then. Those videos today were disgusting and pulled police away from helping people in need.

 

Being in the heart of tornado alley I picked up an appreciation for thunderstorms and enjoy being able to see all those various radars on my own screen, so I downloaded the base version of RadarScope. As lomcevak mentioned, he has beefed up the tornado thread and that should lower the learning curve a little of getting into the radar stuff

Excellent way to visualize the model data, particularly for wind fields. I may look at it from time to time, but I never use it to make a forecast. Mainly just of I need a"whoa"visual

Storm hit land and went due north with a slight left lean, looking to head right up through west orlando and up I75. Our power has gone out twice but has come back on after a minute, praise jah. Been thinking the same thing

 

FIL who refused to evacuate from Plantation reports that he never lost power. Ceiling fan is missing from back porch and one of his plywood coverings got blown off. Not sure he has ventured outside yet. The other side of the street is without power. Thankfully, nothing too bad, but now he won't take the next storm as serious.

 

I have said the looters are assholes I just disagree with the idea that they should be punished more

Did anyone see migration of birds or anything when this shit was coming in. Up here people say during tornados and severe storms birds get out. I've never seen the shit though
