Amazon video is the easiest free streaming site for air travel I have and there is a shit ton of original content. The problem is I don't want to sift through all of it. Are any of them worth jumping into?
I haven't watched many of their originals, of course they don't have that big of an originals library, but off the top of my head I know I have enjoyed Man in the High Castle and Red Oaks.
Bosch (based on Michael Connolly's novels) is my favorite. Both Goliath and Man in the High Castle are worth it, as well.
Rammed through Goliath. That shit was ill. Great performances all around and a juicy conspiracy. Do recommend.
Just finished the first episode of season 2 of Red Oaks. Episode ended with a New Order song too Forgot how good this show is. One of the unheralded gems on the streaming services. Cannot recommend it enough. Might be my favorite streaming original comedy.
Is it just me or is taking Amazon a ridiculous amount of time to put out new seasons of its original shows? I know network TV takes a long time to produce start to finish, so I'm probably just more observant than before.
Metacritic says it doesn't come out until Friday? http://www.metacritic.com/feature/tv-premiere-dates
Con man gets released from prison and assumes the identity of his cell mate. Good acting. Good plot. Bryan Cranston. Really good.
Moved on to Goliath. Solid characters on the Billy Bob side, but Hurt and Parker are like comic book level villains.
Finished Goliath. Really meh. Need to ditch everyone from the law firm sans the young associate if theres going to be a season 2 - Hurt Parker and Bello were just stuck with awful characters.
Watched both seasons of Red Oaks in a week. Good characters plus a mix of 80s easy-listening jams. Nash was my favorite. Spoiler Side note, what's Nash always calling the kids? "Boychick?" Never could tell.
Boychik is yiddish guys. It's an old Jew's country club, in case you missed that. and yes, term of endearment.
Do not watch Good Girls Revolt. Not only is it a poor man's Mad Men, there will be no season 2, cancelled.
Not Amazon Originals but figured this would be the most relevant thread to post it in ... all HBO content will leave Amazon Prime streaming May 2018
New season of Bosch is great. Between that, Red Oaks, Man in the High Castle, and Sneaky Pete, I currently watch more Amazon shows than I do Netflix.
Finally got around to finishing season 3. Season was way too short at only 6 episodes. Felt like none of the stories were able to be fleshed out well. Could have easily gotten at least two more 10-episode seasons out of all the stuff that was going on in this season. Lack of Skye for all but one episode was also disappointing. Still enjoyed it even though it left so much on the table.
Season 3 struggled with everyone branching out into their own storyline, and most of it away from the country club. It got too busy. Too short, felt rushed. Especially David’s transformation at the end. Some great characters though. Nash, Wheeler, and Barry were great.
i just binged Jean Claude Van Johnson. i think it was awesome. just the right amount of over the top. also loved Red Oaks. sad if thats it.
