It’s worth listening to Samson’s south beach session if you are interested in dan and his dynamic. It’s just a strange relationship (as only David is capable of)
Haven't listened beyond the first 15 minutes and wont be able until this evening, but Samson being in town for a week or two...does this mean we are getting him on the main show every day again as a fill in? because that was horrible the last time and I thought they said they realized the audience hates him beyond his one local hour hit.

Yes. He has this really weird self awareness issue. I personally know people who have had bad experiences trying to work with him. at the same time I think he has good values and seems like in there is a good guy but he has some really really weird internal wiring for how he deals with other humans.
Imo he doesn’t want to do the show at all anymore but he’s loyal to dan and won’t ever commit to leaving.

he has good social values, but is a total scum bucket when it comes to capitalism and riding for billionares (makes sense given his career and cashing in on that). he's also probably on the spectrum and the least self aware person of all time on air. really enjoying new hire Lucy Rhoden, as an aside.
The disdain in Jessica’s voice whenever she calls him on his super capitalism / rich privilege comments is palpable. She haaaaaates him.

Different rich level, and not a nepobaby baby like Samson, but Jessica was also born into a very privileged existence. 49 trips to Europe, Notre Dame, parents buying her into the Chicago Fire soccer program or whatever.
Dominique constantly hitting him for being uptight was the best possible way to deal with him. It was absolutely perfect.

yeah, it was really funny. honestly, today's whole show was really good. funny how that happens when Dan, Stu, and Amin are driving the show 90% of the time. also the Shea Serrano segment was great.
Shea is great in general. His writing is funny too. but yeah the “not Samson” is the main takeaway. Pablo can drive well too without Samson there
