Honest answer is that the Trop prevents a ton of rain delays and any new ballpark has to either be another dome or retractable roof. Central Florida summer means late afternoon rain/lightning about 75-80% of the time, Gainesville is about 2 hours north and virtually every time we host a regional/super regional things get delayed hours due to weather. The Trop is what it is.
Not surprising we’re the second longest. Just seems like every time I’m watching it goes over 3 hours
I love the speed of the games this year but i feel like I’ve watched so much less baseball when I come out of the kids bedroom at 830 and the game is already in the 6th
