I honestly have had a feeling that it’d happen. Thought he would’ve done it last year tbh. Don’t really get it because he fits the system and plays a lot but whatever.
I appreciate his contributions this season and wish him well. I hope he continues to improve. Seems like a good kid.
Entering doesn't mean he's gone. Tbh it's smart to enter and try to get more from Bama. System sucks but I don't blame him for using it to his advantage. Hope he finds his way back.
streaky shooter and solid defender at times but i dont think he's a starter on a championship caliber team.
The things I liked about Rylan are also the thinks I disliked about him. He had a great run in March for us though. I just kind of hate how the portal kind of puts an end more often than not to a lot of players transversing the point of being a memory vs being a legacy.
hell yes! Dude was a terrible decision maker, ticking turnover and somewhat autistic. But boy could he shoot! Seeeeeee ya!!!!! Now let me see who I should get
I think Griffen is better than yall are letting on. His offense was a key element to our tourney run. Without his 3 point shooting you don't beat UNC and might not beat Clemson. If you can replace him with someone that is as good of a shooter and defender then fine. But that's not easy to find. This is a big loss that is hard to replace imo. They need to figure out a way to pay him.
He was injured a lot of last year too. He was easily our best perimeter defender and had a knack for hitting 3s to stop the other teams run. He runs like Red from Friday but losing him would suck.
rylan understands the value of a well-timed heel turn this just leads to him coming out of the stands and hitting an auburn player with a steel chair during the SEC Championship next year
Agreed. Not sure how anyone could try to hide behind that charade at this point. The worms are out of the can, lets just get some common sense structure in place
who has the authority to do this? The ncaa ? Congress ? conference commissioners? May be our only hope. Serious question because I’m an old who doesn’t have the time to keep up with this as closely as I used to. But this seems to be a big issue
Obviously, the issue is that it doesn't seem like anyone currently has that power. It's going to take the conferences forming their own regulatory body and coming up with this structure, just like any other professional sports league. Several prominent sports journalists have recently suggested that talks are ongoing amongst some of the powers that be to accomplish exactly that, but clearly nothing formal has come out yet.
I mean didn't this all start with California's state government? I'm sure there's some weird skirting of labor laws in some cases, it'll eventually see government intervention if some structure isn't put in place soon-ish (new few years?)
the power 4 conferences grow to 16 teams, form their own league, and pair with espn for an expanded playoff i’ve thought it was inevitable for a while now and it definitely seems like things are heading that direction
Looked around for Saban yesterday and today at the National. Didn't see him. Did see Todd Golden yesterday.
I thought about bringing it up but I knew this thread would meltdown after the already minor changes.
