Need starters to go deeper in games. But this team is pretty good. And fun to watch.

 

if they get healthy and add a few real bullpen arms in July they could be dangerous

 

You can always improve the pen. The pen is getting overworked... Starters need to start extending starts. Kyle to the IL helps, Steele returning from the IL is also a big step in the right direction.

Horton doesn't have much to prove... I would expect him up at some point this season.

 

Assad should be a permanent fixture in the rotation at this point.

 

It’s going to be interesting to see what we do with the rotation come next year. We could have Steele, Imanaga, Wicks, Assad, Taillon, Brown, and Horton vying for spots. I wonder if Taillon has a decent bounce back season that we try and move him this offseason.

 

Wisdom was fucking terrible at 1st last night and Adbert looks like shit. Throwing soft as fuck too.

 

Let’s hope Arias keeps killing it in the minors and maybe can be a September call up.

 

I think Brown may be better for the pen... but time will tell. Brown v Tailon is probably the convo to be had next year... would imagine Tailon could be trade bait this deadline in a package to improve elsewhere.

Baseball America updated their top 100 prospects and Jeferson Rojas came in at 47. He’s destroying high A ball as a 19 year old. He honestly is probably the most valuable prospect in our organization. If he can play a legit SS he may be a superstar.

 

Wesneski seems to have gotten his “yips” figured out. It’s pretty impressive the amount of quality pitching we seemed to have accumulated.

 

Too bad Alzolay is wasting performances left and right...in addition to the offense clearly missing Suzuki and Cody.

 

Yeah, not really sure what to do with Alzolay. He’s out of options so we can’t send him down to AAA unless he accepts the assignment. It seems like it’s a mental thing like Wesneski dealt with last year.

Illini is stuck in the 80s... Managers get very little say. I'm sure Craig has more than most... but they are working hand in hand with the front office and the analytic department on all types of shit for game day scenarios.
