well the shift would come tonight and not really matter to you too much per se. I'm just looking forward to some body surf. my eye wall guess is Pensacola and I'm sticking to it damnit.
Im guessing Grand Isle. Mobile gets about as lucky as any coastal city can get. Every hurricane starts out for it -and then they veer left or right. Im guessing left this time.
My guess for eyewall landfall is Bayou la Batre. If that's the case, Mobile Bay/Mobile is going to get flooded.

so after a little analysis.. here is the DL.. the euro is showing a turn because the 500 mb vorticity is more pronounced than the gfs based models and thus is feeling the weakness. if this does decide to intensify it is quite likely the models will come back east.
I'm currently sitting out here in my kayak on perdido key. Here's an eyes witness report. It's sunny, and there are boats everywhere. Good news is all the tourist are leaving

they are expecting 97L to become a tropical system as well but they all think it is going to be a fish (not hit any land)
They are evacuating perdido key and some inland areas in escambia county. Haven't heard anything about OB or Gulf Shores yet
Doesnt look all that well-organized. I mean, I guess it could be a totally different story between now and 12 hrs from now, but I'm underwhelmed by this pussy ass storm.
Well all of south Baldwin county and zones 1 and 2 in Mobile county have been told to evacuate beginning 8 am Monday
Just got back home from an impromptu trip to Tarpon Springs this afternoon with a buddy who wanted to get some data ahead of the storm. Nothing too interesting to report other than the cop who stuck around almost 45 minutes to see what we were doing and asked a bunch of questions. Getting caught up now on changes from the 11am update.
