One to Watch: Marcelo Martins: A tireless work ethic, coupled with a good eye for goal, has endeared the Shakhtar striker to the fans and he is seen as a replacement for the recently retired Joaquin Botero. Prediction: Group Stage Colombia Coach: Hernan Dario Gomez Captain: Mario Yepes Copa America best: Winners (1) While FC Porto's pair of Falcao and Freddy Guarin provide hope, Colombia are the not the force of old and did not impress in the 2007 version of the Copa, when they went out in the group stage. A 4-1-4-1 formation hints that defence will be the priority and that will limit their ability to win games, especially as they are still searching for a creative midfielder in the mould of Carlos Valderrama to help unlock an opposition backline. One to Watch: Cristian Zapata: While Falcao takes the headlines up front, the powerful Zapata keeps things tight at the back and is reportedly close to a move to Liverpool. With defensive football proving unpopular under Dunga, Menezes promised to attack when put in charge after the World Cup but the counter-attacking style has failed to win over the fans thus far. In Neymar, they have potentially the best player in the competition, but Brazil may suffer from the enormous expectation that is (and always has been) upon them. One to Watch: Ganso: The Santos midfielder has been likened to fellow countryman Kaka and is set to move to Italy this summer, but his price may rise with a commanding performance in the tournament if he can step out from the shadow of club team-mate Neymar. It's Mexico's U-22 team with a few exceptions. Take away Gio and the team has a combined 53 caps amongst them. CONCACAF forced Mexico to take this type of roster, same with Costa Rica.

This is the real tourney though to show they are real. They haven't done shit in forever in the WC, think they'd like to try and stake a claim that they are for real. US played their B team in the Gold Cup IIRC because it's not a serious tourney. It's not like Chicarito played that much this year. He was a reserve for a good part of the year and could just skip preseason and play in this.
Nope, the last time we played in Copa America was 2007, we won the Gold Cup that year to get into Confed Cup then sent a C team to the Copa. They were so pissed we haven't been invited back since, don't see how Mexico is doing anything different.

Yeah that was a terrible decision not to play the advantage. Brazil's finishing was bad that half, similar to their haircuts. They passed up some really good looks early on looking for an extra pass or dribble. The field is also pretty wet.
Robinho looks like a moron. Worse than Neymar in my opinion because hes trying to have white people hair like a black guy in the 50s, it doesn't look right. Neymar looks like a squirrel.

Hulk amazingly wasn't even named to the roster. This was the coach's reasoning: "I do not see Hulk in the Seleção as a centre forward. Falcao occupies this position for Porto, Hulk is the second striker." Quite a weird start to CA, Argentina and Brazil draw against 2 of the worst teams in the tourney. Paraguay/Ecuador will be on Telefutura @ 5:30et.
Think he's more of a center forward than Pato. Just don't like Brazil's attacking lineup. He'll be 33 next WC and his career is spinning crazy right now but Fabiano has been great for them.
