Yeah, and just shows the improvement of CONMEBOL over the past few years. It was always Brazil and Argentina and maybe some random team with a good group of players that could damage on the int'l stage, but now every team they send to a WC can all make a run, especially with it in Brazil next. Venezuela and Peru used to be walk overs, and Bolivia has the biggest home field advantage in the world basically, they suck out of La Paz though.
Another big LOL for amount of teams a region gets to qualify is the Olympics. South America gets 2 (Brazil and Uruguay), while Africa and Asia both get 3 guaranteed and their 4th place teams play each other in a playoff to advance. Europe gets 4, with England having an automatic spot (Spain, Switzerland, and Belarus are the other 3).
