evra forgot that he was playing. or something. hernandez has been offside 20 more times than xavi has missed a pass.
Haha, I am waiting for him to stumble in and join the bench all while chainsmoking a carton of Marlboro reds or something. Would make for great entertainment.
Lol at the posters on here who said Barca wouldn't win the EPL. They are probably the best club team of all time. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquests absolutely own the center of the pitch and can't be stopped. I'm not a Barca fan, but I gizz in my pants every time I watch them.
Not a chance Barca could go to Bolton, Blackburn, Stoke, Brum, Wolves, Newcastle etc etc and not leave without a few broken legs and bad results. It's a continental side and the EPL isn't a continental league yet, it's a kicking league. Everyone plays in La Liga.
Yea. Fucking Stoke City, Bolton, Wolves, and Blackburn could beat Barca.... They would touch the ball 15 times and 5 of those would be kicking off after goals. Some of you guys are so brainwashed by the English media its not even funny. I bet you think England is a favorite for Euro2012 and Wayne Rooney is one of the best players on the field in the CL final.
It's a different game. A red card in Spain is a yellow in England. Barcelona are amazing against football clubs and with refs who buy their dives. It's a different proposition if you are allowed to kick them around the park.
don't think that's what he is saying. seemed like he was alluding to Barca probably having to deal more with injuries due to the lack of "giving a fuck" by some of those teams listed. still think Barca would win the EPL, but they'd need to develop more depth than they have now.
that is the reason they wouldnt win, you think they could face stokes week in week in and not come out with injuries?
In a "one-of", ya Barca is a much superior football club, as is Mancs, Citeh, Pool and Arsenal. But over the course of a campaign, the injuries that happen against these types of clubs add up as do bad results. Everyone plays clean in La Liga. You only have to look at Arsenal and see what happens when you are allowed to kick the opposing team off the park. When is the last time Barcelona has suffered a broken bone in a La Liga match? Arsenal basically get one or more a year in EPL.
Furthermore, go look at how great Spain is when they are allowed to get kicked off the park. France did it to them in 2006 and Netherlands did the same in 2010.
Ummmm. There wasn't one dive today, the ref was letting Man U play, and could have given Valencia 3 yellow cards. Yet they still destroyed Man U on a neutral field. Also, La Liga despite being more of a possession/finesse league is still physical. Anyone who has played soccer with and against Latin players should know that they can be very physical. Heck look at how much Messi gets knocked around in La Liga. Oh and Real Madrid is a pretty damn physical team. The Barca hate is strong in some. Unless you are lying to yourself, there is no way you can't say they are one of the best teams of all time. If you think they wouldn't win the EPL you are just a faggot.
I don't give two fucks about either team or either league, but the leniency was clearly because it's the fucking Finals, not because it's an EPL team.
Reading comprehension isn't a strong suit is it? The point was that they played in a game with leniency and made out just fine. In fact it didn't throw them off their game on bit.
Congrats Barcelona, definitely deserved to win. It's disappointing to lose, but considering the odds against this team with how weak it was compared to other traditional Man Utd teams, very successful season. Just hope the youth infusion can continue this off season and everyone settles in the lineup.
Well geez, how nice of the refs not to just hand it to Barca today after handing them the finals. Ya'll are missing the point, I've yet to see Barca boss a game where the other team is allowed to kick them off the pitch. It's how you beat them. Best footballing club in the world though. Massive respect for that.
Common sense isn't a strong suit is it? Leniency on ticky-tack fouls and going against thugs is different too.
You said it was leniency because it was the finals, not because it was an EPL team. That had nothing to do with the argument. The argument was that they couldn't handle the physicality of EPL teams because of officiating. Well they handled the physicality just fine with a ref who wasn't calling much. Would they get hurt a few times? Perhaps. Would they still be the best team in the EPL with a few injuries? Yes. Easily. They didn't even have Puyol, Affelay, Keita, Jeffren, and Bojan in the lineup today. They had Zlatan out on loan this season. They have a ridiculously loaded B team with future studs on it. They would have plenty of depth and talent even with a few injuries.
Really nothing to even discuss. Not sure why anyone would even waste their time arguing that the world's best team wouldn't win it.
Affelay, Keita, Jeffren, Bojan, Mascherano hardly ever play. Last year Yaya hardly ever played. I think lots of people underestimate our depth because they hardly ever get a chance to see it.
If it's hardly ever seen, it seems like it's just as hard validate your depth as it is to discount it.
lol...this thread has gotten so fucking stupid. rainey is clinging to his "kick off the pitch" phrase as if he's some fuckin genius soccer tactician. how many hard fouls did valencia's faggot ass commit today? idk where this notion that the entire team is soft comes from, just because they beat the shit out of most teams with skill doesn't mean they aren't tough, and if your game plan is to win by taking out players on the other team, well thats just fucking stupid and classless, and a tactic that pathetic and desperate teams would resort to.
we are arguing about barca being in the epl because of this retarded fucking comment and the ones that follow then a ray of light
Maybe it comes from the fact that the roster is half comprised of dickbags that dive every other game and piss and moan until undeserved cards are brandished. Just because they managed to stay upright today, while playing their typically beautiful brand of ball, doesn't mean we just forget about all of the bullshit this team pulls over the course of a season. And yea, United has some thug-ass behavior to counter that, no question. Also I think it's comical the way Barcelona fans are pumping their chests... United looked absolutely horrible defensively today. I have no idea how Rio expects to stop a shot when he cowers the way he does - and how many times are you going to allow messi to surprise you with his quick-fire shot?
holy moly at the page views for this thread. thats a lot of lurkers or A LOT of F5ing for the posters.
