idk I feel as though I'd be out there going 20% speed with a pulled hammy over just sitting watching my team play down a man.
Spain was 4 goals better than italy the whole time. Germany would have been a better game. I said 3 favorites in order (Spain, Germany, Ned) Ned was so freaking bad this tournament.
Congratulations to Spain, I think they simply outclassed Italy today. Italy really didn't play poorly before the injury other than Chiellini, who was clearly not fit from the start, and Abate (worst player of the match). Prandelli was fantastic almost the entire tournament, but taking off Montolivo for Motta was the worst decision by anyone all tournament AND that is before the injury... Montolivo played as well as anyone today, Prandelli got I all wrong and then it just became disastrous with the immediate injury. Credit to Spain, they are much better than we give them credit for... Don't know if they are goat level, but this side just continues to win, and that's all that really matters at the end of the day.
No, they were not 4 goals better. You mean the German side with the slower defense and worse midfield that Italy just demolished three days ago, Det. Frank Bullitt. If so, you are dumber than I thought, sir.
Would have been nice to see Germany-Spain in the final but Italy deserved to be there, Germany blew their chance.
superbooks odds Spain 9/4 Germany 3/1 Ned 6/1 England 10/1 France 12/1 Italy 12/1 Portugal 15/1 Russia 20/1 explain to me why I am dumb to say that Germany/Spain would have been a better game than Spain 4 Italy 0?
Germany was all over Italy early. It just as easily could have been 2-0 Germany as it was 2-0 Italy. Italy converted their chances, Germany had theirs go just wide or over the bar.
Spain wins 1-0 people bitch that they are boring. Spain wins 4-0 people bitch that someone else would have gave them a better game. Sit back and enjoy the show. The best side of our generation.
I explained it to you in the last post. I already I said Spain outclassed Italy, but they would have outclassed anyone on this day, even almighty perennially overrated fucking Germany. It was still a match when Motta went down, and Italy played very well in stretches. Simply outclassed, but don't tell me the side Italy completely outclassed would have been a better match. Classic argument: if everything went Germany's way instead they could have won.
im not talking away anything from spain. Im just saying germany is closer to spains level than Italy and would have provided a closer game, which is what above poster is taking exception to. "Italy suprising a lot of people"
We have actually witnessed some fantastic sides, but certainly the best since Brazil 02... I think that Brazil side was better, to be honest.
Really excited for 2014, could be amazing if the Euro teams buck history. At some point Spain have to slow down, right?
Well, I really don't know what to say to you, man. Neither of them are anywhere near Spain's level and Italy just came off of a master class against Germany.
I'm with Shocker on Brazil '02 being the best in the past 10-15 years, with 98-00 France there with Spain. Low would've been scared to death of Spain. Look at how much he changed his tactics to play against Italy, Germany's too talented to be worried about someone else dictating the game. And their back 4 was a trainwreck against Italy (thanks in part to Italy's attack).
I would love to see that matchup. Hard to argue against 3 major titles in a row. But that 2002 side had so much top shelf talent playing at their peak at the same time. Going to change my pants now after thinking about that match up.
I think Spain with Puyol and Villa is right there. I mean, it's pretty fucking crazy what Spain did without those two, including getting a laughable Torres 3 goals when he comes in as the garbage man. And then only conceding 1 goal without Puyol.
