Bulls broadcast is on NBATV. Their announcers are just killing Drummond for everything about his effort tonight. They're also massive dicks about pretty much everything to do with everything we do. Drummond has acted like a baby at times tonight, but this broadcast (and the terrible shooting) make it not fun to watch.
Drummond is a mental midget. Guy is shooting 30% from the line on over 550 free throw attempts. Hope we trade him in the off season. He's not a franchise player. He's a + rebounder, but sucks on defense and he can't create his own shot.
Butler had one of those Westbrook games with a triple double that was very inefficient. Our D was great in the 4th, too.
Marcus Morris has been an unbelievable pick-up. He's shooting almost 50% from 3 since the break (obviously not going to continue, but still), he plays solid defense, and hasn't been nearly as big of a tool as Phoenix people suggested. That contract the next three years is a heist. We can just throw the dead money from Smith on top of it to make it $10M a year the next 3 years, and it's still a good deal.
We get on national TV 2-4x a year, and we seem to no show every single time. This team is really frustrating with the number of eggs they've laid this year.
We had a 43-38 lead with just under 5 mins to play in the 2nd quarter. We trail 51-44 at the half. Kind of need to win this one.
Thank god orlando's guards can't shoot. Wouldn't say we played great, but would be a clutch road win. Fuck.
If I'm reading these standings correctly, and I'd like to think that I am, we need one win (or one loss by both Chicago and Washington) the rest of the way to clinch a spot.
Johnson has been sucking the last few games, glad he felt the pine tonight. Reggie B was ready to play tonight, and this should light a fire under Stanley's azzzz.
Andre is picking a really bad time to be in one of his weird passive/pouting modes. Game would probably be over already if he was engaged and active on D and on the boards.
He's never going to make free throws. Players far more mentally tough than him who have struggled from the line haven't been able to shake this no matter how hard they work. We just have to get past this year until they change the rule. The bigger issue for me is his inability to get beyond things he doesn't like (bad shot, bad defense, not getting the ball, missing FTs, whatever) and put in work in a game like tonight. His performance tonight (combined with the bench) has been embarrassing, given the stakes.
Drummond was a fucking embarrassment tonight. SVG knows he's not a max player. Hopefully we get rid of him this off-season. Guy is supposed to be a max player, but you can't play his ass in the 4Q? Stan should have sent his sorry ass to the lockerroom once he was crying on the bench.
Yeah. Let's give someone that has a bad attitude! sucks on D, can't make a free throw, and sulks on the bench a max contract. Great idea.
Even some of the contracts we hated haven't been bad. Baynes has been solid for the price they paid, even with Blake as his primary PG getting him involved. He's much better defensively than I expected. Morris and Harris were steals for what they gave up for them. If Johnson figures it out offensively, his record through the first 2 years is as good as any GM we could have hoped for at the time, and that GM probably wasn't going to hire anyone close to as good a coach as him.
For all those who thought I was sad about that game... Isn't the case at all just was sad my best friend who passed away wouldn't be able 11:09pm - 8 Apr 16 To see me in my first playoff run, I'm beyond excited we won! #pistonNation 11:09pm - 8 Apr 16
My fondest sports wish would be for the Pistons to win this series, thus convincing LeBron to abandon Cleveland once again, preferably for LA. The jersey burning would be glorious.
We have to steal this one, because we won't shoot it like this again, and we can't guard any of their 3 guys.
