I mean I doubt he falls to us, but if Skal Labissiere is on the board when we pick, don't we have to take him?
Would be okay with Skal, Davis or Baldwin Davis was in shock when Denzel just got picked ahead of him
Jake Fischer ✔@JakeLFischer Sacramento called Detroit offering to move back from No. 13 to 18 to pick up a piece, per Pistons source, but Detroit declined.
I hope Stan trolls us all and takes Kay Felder. Would be the second most successful OU alumn ever Spoiler Behind me
Not Pistons related but I love Boogie DeMarcus Cousins @boogiecousins 3m3 minutes ago Lord give me the strength
Ellenson is a really good value. Would have preferred a better athlete, but he was talked as a top 10 guy until a few weeks ago.
Def a plug and play type player with I'm sure a limited ceiling. Could be a nice compliment to Drummond though.
Keith Langlois @Keith_Langlois 20s21 seconds agoAuburn Hills, MI Ellenson 10th on #Pistons board SVG says
David Mayo @David_Mayo 44s44 seconds ago SVG said #Pistons had Ellenson 10th on their board. Added that team won't draft another big in second round.
Keith Langlois @Keith_Langlois 16s17 seconds ago Ellenson was one of the 11 guys his staff told him had no chance to be there at 18. SVG watched about 2 games on tape, loved what he said.
Keith Langlois @Keith_Langlois 35s36 seconds ago SVG said in first 12 or 13 picks, 2 guys were already gone #Pistons had in 30s on their board.
Seems like the type of draft where every team will claim their 1st rounder was top 10 on their board. A lot of eye of the beholder after the Murray went at #7
Watching a bit of SVG's presser, seems like he thinks Ellenson can potentially play this year. I really hope that might stop us from overpaying a PF in FA who wouldn't can't play.
I'm mentally preparing myself for the news flash 10 days from now that we signed Delly to an offer sheet for 4/$48M, and it makes me really sad.
Felder to the Cavs. Sucks to lose DeToxRox to the Cleveland contingent, but he should fit in well with that fanbase.
So I have no feel for what the fuck we do in FA. I kind of like Speights but I doubt we fuck around with RFAs.
Shams Charania @ShamsCharania Detroit is nearing agreement on a deal to send guard Jodie Meeks to Orlando, league sources tell The Vertical.Jun 29, 2016, 1:39 PM
Shams Charania @ShamsCharania Details on @TheVertical: Pistons trading guard Jodie Meeks to the Magic for a second-round pick.
So we are at 21 mil in cap space according to Bobby Marks. I guess we can make a run at Horford but zero chance he comes here.
From Zach Lowe Some swing teams to monitor: The Hawks are reluctant to offer Horford the fifth year only they can dangle, and if they hold firm, they are at grave risk of losing him for nothing, per league sources. (Watch out for the Pistons on Horford; with Wednesday's trade of Meeks, they are one tiny move away from being able to fit his max. They are working to schedule a meeting with Horford over the first 48 hours of free agency, sources say. Horford's fit alongside Andre Drummond is another question entirely.)
I don't see any reason Horford and Drummond wouldn't fit together. I think they fit well, for the most part. The bigger issue to me would be Jackson/KCP/Morris around him, because none of those guys is an elite shooter. Would be interesting to see what they did with Harris if that dream became a reality.
Horford still comes back to Lansing every summer to out on youth camps and whatnot. I think his parents probably still live in the area too, although I'm not sure there anymore. He probably considers Detroit his "hometown" team. Not that that means much, but maybe it lets them get their foot in the door where otherwise they'd have no shot at all.
Tellem was his agent before taking his role with the Pistons. That might be the more important "in" with him. So would the idea of him playing PF more than he would for a lot of other teams. Still don't think there's much of a chance there, barring his market not being as hot as assumed and Atlanta not ponying up to keep him.
