I'd imagine that's the reason. JO said he was gonna stop doing it, but that only lasted a day or 2. Probaly not his call, but its still annoying as hell.
VT site does the exact same thing, it's probably 247 wanting clicks. I get fucking texts from them "VT got a new commit go to this link to see who!" like wtf tell me who before I go to Twitter and look for 5 seconds.
I haven't had a membership in years now. Is there really a reason to given how much twitter is used in recruiting now?
I cancelled 247 last winter and have not missed it at all. Whoever JO's contact is inside the football program is gone and he knows nothing more than anyone else. Even when he did have contacts, he was wrong half the time. Not sure whether that's his fault or "this is how fast things change in recruiting" but its certainly not worth $100 a year to read speculation. 247's Crystal Ball feature was a huge mistake IMO. Exposed for just how little they actually know.
our guys aren't any better and whatever they know always seems to be either wrong or after the fact because it was so dead-on that revealing it would ruin the kid's moment. they're so careful to ride the fence but it never does them any good. they'll tell us we lead instead of calling him a lock or whatever and then if we lose the kid people are pissed regardless. I used to know where the info came from under the old staff but I've got no clue now but they seemed to have found a line somewhere. it's better over there now that Beamer is gone and we're winning but these last few years have been brutal. you never recruit well when you're bad(and people know you're bad and not just a new HC with other HC's players) so people get mad over that and there's no satisfying them and then they leave and then your bosses yell at you for losing subs but there's nothing you can really do about it. it really does ebb and flow with the program. if UVA started churning out 10 win seasons all the time JO would be swimming in subs.

Honestly, no its a waste of money. I don't use twitter at all, but all the news breaks on there. Usually theres a thread on 247 breaking the news before JO does. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but JO used to have really good write-ups. That's where Brad was really good IMO, he was just really behind on breaking news. Don't think that's the case any more though.
