Oh, and like I said I won't be on until like 11:30 EST at the earliest so no one else will be a captain/manager whatever until I'm able to log back on, so you guys maybe should probably just play with Real Mainboard until I get on.
missed this week's soap with work. gonna stock up on points with the lady on weeknights now til '11 comes out so I'll have some to spend when I want to get back into daily club play. still down for weekend play even though it's harder to get the group together with people out doing different shit. might have to see Piranha 3d tonight, but either way i'll try and get on to see if anyones around.
lol I feel so bad that you have to see that shit. That's like paying to watch a SyFy movie. Eric Roberts is the only hope for that movie. I'll be on around 11 ET. Watching the Saints game with my dad.
tried to explain this to the lady and got so close to getting her to switch to Takers. told her P3D is a horrible movie, beyond horrible even, and then i was like "just check Rotten Tomatoes". big fucking mistake... 75% Piranha 3-D 28% Takers
Aight so I got rid of the new club I made, and I guess we're going to stick with Real Mainboard until 11 comes out. Orrrrr I can create the new club again starting over with 0 points and assumingly playing lower level clubs.
I really do think our level of play drops significantly when we play with the B team first and then get together. It's like our chemistry is thrown off and we are burned out or something. Then again, I played like shit last time we played and I've never played with the B team. I dunno.
yeah we've been pretty shaky with the 4-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 4-3-1-2 works well when we have 2-3 new players who are just getting their feet wet playing clubs
Maybe I'll drop back to midfield for a few nights. The 4-2-2-2 is pretty awesome when TNE and I are linking up and playing well, but I was in piss poor form the other night. I wish we could pull off an ANY, but it throws off our timing, IMHO.
Watson was doing some serious work as our any a little while back. The best part about an any is defending a dangerous counter and making accurate clearances.
I like watson at any but I can't help but love the computer's erratic clearances and missed tackles. They keep the chat going as we talk countless minutes of shit about them.
It's kinda creepy how I can call half of the other team's goals based on the computer's specific fuck ups.
4-2-2-2 causes a giant cluster fuck in the middle. It becomes like playing in a hallway the whole time.
I like the attacking mids in the 4-2-2-2 to play out wide and open up the field so the defensive mids can play the nice passes in that formation. It's a dangerous formation to use (clusterfuckery and ugly play) if your team can't execute it, which a lot of nights, we can't, so I understand why we use the 5-2-1-2 and the 4-3-1-2 a lot.
I would almost prefer us to play the 4-2-3-1 at points as a primary formation. It gives enough bite up front with 4 going forward in most cases and allows people to get wide which we have a lot of success doing but also always those 3 or some of those 3 to drop back into a defensive role.
I was messing around with it the other night in a friendly and it is a pretty nice getting the ball off the backline and going forward quickly.
so yeah i'm really enjoying all this fifa strategy discussion maybe we can apply what we've discussed in about an hour or so?
If we get enough. I am down to try to the 4-2-3-1. It allows some of us defensive minded individuals play back but still be part of the offensive attack in some capacity. Also it does not force the forwards to feel like they need to make a play every time. It is very frustrating watching 2 guys try to take on 4 defenders. Plus it gives options instead of a single options.
I've spurred my dad's fascination in Netflix. You guys feel free to start without me because I'll have a hard time prying the controller away from him.
Just tell him no self-respecting man watches sex in the city, glee or jersey housewives. we really are kindred spirits I'm down for the 4-2-3-1, but the 2 mids will have to swallow their pride and stay back. Maybe we can do a little bit of a rotation or something unless 1-2 people are set on playing back a bit.
You know me. I have no problem channeling my inner Vieira or De Jong and hang out back there with the occasional run on offense. Just keep my away from striker or anything forward and we will be good.
I think if we can get 3 guys up on the attack; the offense does not sputter like it has for us in the other formations. Options are the key. We have got 6 back normally so it should not be an issue unless they completely go balls out on an attack.
It's not a glory position by any means, but you legitimately saved 2-3 goals and at least twice as many good scoring opportunities. Did really well.
