I understand why we have long said that Alexis up top doesn't work. I'm not saying it's our best option. But when you have two dynamic wingers + Ozil, it certainly can work. We're figuring it out and Theo playing out of his mind is helping. Nice to have it as a plan 1A
Its a nice set up for substitutions as well. Giroud coming off the bench is optimal for offense and defense. Lucas also there if we need a goal.
theo's recognition to become the furthest man forward whenever alexis drops deeper might be what we've been looking for this entire time.
I really thought it could work this summer if we had gotten Mahrez. Theo's play is making it work (words I never thought I would type).
Theo tracking back and playing intelligently up top really has been so important. Mustafi looking good and Kos is fucking brilliant as always.
