He was never going to be more than 2nd best at RB/LB & relegated to the League Cup... Confident Jenks & Gibbs are better
More & more smoke regarding Draxler... Likely means it's not in the cards. Really, really want it to happen though
He's consistently decent from what I've seen, won't hurt the team but does nothing to stick out besides being tall and black.
I assumed it was at least the usual suspects & didn't zoom in to see the "targets" until posting... Sorry for wasting both your & my time.
Morata staying at Real & they've backed off Pogba, per Marca. Queue the Sanchez to Juventus rumors. I wouldn't even be mad if he went...
We're getting dangerously close to "I can't find anyone that will improve us" and "we will only buy top top players"
That is so summer of 2015, before we finished Top 2... We are now "only in the market for top top top players"
I can't really say I like this story very much. The trend of not being able to find a role at the club for so many recently retired Arsenal legends is rather troubling. I understand the conflict of interest with having a member of the youth staff also being a paid pundit for Sky, but it's the idea of Henry being offered a job and then Wenger quashing it that bothers me. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...ve-coaching-role-at-arsenal-after-arsene-wen/
Wenger is notoriously stubborn with everything he does. This is disappointing but ultimately unsurprising.
Not aware of any other club letting someone be a full time pundit as well as having an official coaching role. I'm gonna be mad as hell if Wenger doesn't sign a forward but I'm not gonna get worked up about him not catering to Thierry for the first time ever, especially when Tony Adams is coming into the same role. Not sure how it would be fair to Tony to have the same role as Thierry but doing it full time.
It's more the trend of former players taking coaching roles elsewhere and an offer being made then yanked that I find troubling. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
This is a non-issue for me. If he wants to be a coach at the highest level, Henry should commit full time. Personally, I'd prefer Henry, Vierra, Arteta, et all get experience elsewhere before coming back. They already are familiar with the Wenger/Arsenal way... I want new ideas
The entitlement attitude players have when it comes to being given management roles at former clubs is ridiculous. Paolo Maldini threw a fit when Milan wouldn't make him a technical director (with zero experience mind you).
The only thing that really pisses me off is the fact that we havent bought a CB. Per and Gabriel just arent good enough for a team that wants to win the EPL.
tbh I never really expected us to buy one. at least not one of starter quality. not that I disagree with what you said otherwise.
He's nothing special but wish we'd just take someone like Bacca and call it a day. Morata isn't worth the price, Higuain isn't gonna happen, Lacazette isn't gonna happen plus is overrated, why not just get a player at a reasonable price with a decent goal scoring record and we aren't too invested if it doesn't work out. Bad thing about finishing 2nd was Wenger feels much more secure than he should and of course nobody is really pushing him. Only time shit seems to pick up is when civil war breaks out. Of course Wenger seems to be angling for another extension as well.
This is something I don't say lightly with him being an Arsenal player, but he really is a top top lad.
I don't know if you guys are aware but Alexis has done an incredible amount of charitable work in his hometown of Tocopilla, Chile. It is a very small city in the Northern part of Chile with very humble people, mostly fishermen. Alexis goes back every Christmas to deliver toys to the children, has built state of the art pitches and was extremely involved in the recovery efforts after the city was affected by an earthquake in 2007. He really is an amazing person.
