Pleguezuelo is the only academy defender I've heard of unless you want to count Bielik since he's been playing some center back. Maybe I'm forgetting someone but I don't think there are any academy defenders ready to step into the first team.
I've been resigned to Mauro being our likely striker option for awhile now... Other than his off the pitch issues, he's a very Arsenal signing. I wouldn't say he's an upgrade to Giroud now, but he will offer competition & at 23, he has plenty of room to develop. Arsene, I'll take one of Mahrez / Draxler as well. Please & thank you
Get yourself a class center back. Or don't, nbd. Per isn't getting any faster and Gabriel is far from a stud. I almost feel bad for Kos at times. Better cover from your midfield will help a bit but the middle of the back line is meh.
I just couldn't stand idly by. That and I remembered that I had some remnants from this weekend's Open Championship party pack.
Only a goal off the league lead though. Keep in mind that was with two geriatrics covering the back line for half the season. Just the fact that we won't have to trot out Flamini and Arteta at all is such a vast improvement, I can't even put it in words.
I can't wait to see the back of Flamini and Rosicky. Only played well vs. Tottenham. Having Cech in goal helped a good amount in the goals conceded dept, even after a few shaky goals he let in down the stretch. A dependable gk is so valuable, Hugo has saved our bacon more than I can count.
I also want to say we had at least 4 or 5 wonder goals scored on us last year as well. Volleys from outside the box in the upper corners. I might just remember them more because they cost points but they were so nice I couldn't even be mad. But yeah it was so nice to watch Cech and more specifically Woj not thinking he was Neuer.
Unless we loan him out or sell him, Jenkinson is also available to provide cover at RB at some point. Not sure what his timeline for a return is after "doing his knee" last season, but a quick google search says he had surgery on February 1st, so he's likely not too far off from being available, if needed. Debuchy never really impressed me since joining Arsenal to be honest (even before getting injured and pouting like a massive twat after Bellerin nailed down the starting role), so I'd rather ship him (Debuchy) and keep Jenkinson as cover than the other way around.
I could definitely live with that haul. I'd take Draxler over Mahrez though. I like the idea that he could potentially also play the CF role if needed and he's younger than Mahrez. Wouldn't mind him tossing Rodriguez in his suitcase on his way out of Wolfsburg as well.
anybody watching? gonna focus on Iwobi in the 10 role since that's where he'll be playing next year after Ozil leaves.
Watched on hotel wifi so about half the game was blurry but Iwobi looked to be the only 1 that was half decent. I've been way wrong on a lot of youths but love Willock's close control and think he has a chance despite being tiny(like him way more than Jeff), Ox had a nice finish but his passing and touch is just terrible. No words for Theo, he does nothing well. Please buy a fucking forward.

Am I crazy to think that Mahrez is a great fit and could play up top if necessary? And hopefully this means Feo and/or Ox are gone.

Haven't watched much of Draxler but Mahrez would be perfect for us. Still need a striker but praying that we won't have to rely on Theo/Ox all season.
Chris Wheatley seems to be pretty reliable(one of a few I've followed on twitter for years) and said his agent was in Lens watching one of his other clients. Just buy a damn forward or this guy is gonna cry.
